Yumichika Ayasegawa is an odd Shinigami, especially for Division 11 which is generally filled with violence-prone Shinigami who enjoy direct-attack type combat. Yumichika is obsessed with his own beauty and that of his Zanpakuto. But despite being somewhat effeminate, he is the 5th seat of his division. Yumichika wanted the third seat position because he thought the kanji for it was beautiful, however his friend Ikkaku Madarame took it instead. Yumichika is extremely vain and has colourful feathers extending from his eyelashes and eyebrow.
His Zanpakuto is named Ruriri Kujaku (Azure Peacock), although Yumichika often refers to it by its nickname Fuji Kujaku (Wisteria Peacock). Yumichika’s Zanpakuto is as narcissistic as he is and won’t achieve its full power when called by its nickname because it hates the color wisteria purple and only likes the color azure. Unlike all the other members of the 11th Division, Yumichika’s Zanpakuto is a kido-type weapon; something which Yumichika hides from his teammates.
The Shikai command for Ruriri Kujaku is “bloom.” The activated Zanpakuto takes the form of a sickle-shaped blade which can be fanned into four blades from a hinge on the hilt. The special Shikai ability is activated by the command “rip with insanity.” After which the sword emits a glow and grows many vines shaped like peacock feather. These vines can quickly steal the opponent’s spiritual energy, weakening them to a state where Yumichika can easily defeat them.

not one of my favorites, but an interesting personality. i enjoyed his battle with barragan’s fraccion, they called each other ugly as a warm-up.
