Ichigo Kurosaki
H: 174cm W: 61kg Blood type: AO Birthday: July 7
Zanpakutou:
Zangetsu (Cutting Moon)
Bankai: Tensa Zangetsu (Heavenly Chains Moon Cutter)
First Appearance: Manga chapter 1 | Anime episode 1

Ichigo is the main protaganist of Bleach. His bleached oranged-colored hair is natural, but people still mistake him for a delinquint. He was just a normal high school student until he met Rukia Kuchiki. He gained his Shinigami powers from Rukia, and from then on trained to become more powerful so he can protect others. His named, in Japanese, can be interpretted as “one who protects”, but written in another way, it can mean “strawberry.”
Ichigo’s mother died in an incident when Ichigo was young. He has always blamed himself for her death which has led him to promise himself to never let anyone dear to him die or get hurt under his watch. Although his appearance makes Ichigo look like a delinguint, Ichigo actually has a strong sense of justice and will act upon his instincts if he feels something is not right.

Ichigo regained his shinigami powers through Kisuke Urahara’s shattered shaft technique after losing his temporary shinigami powers due to a unique attack by Byakuya Kuchiki. He developed an inner hollow during the latter part of the Soul Society Arc, which would battle him for control of his shinigami powers. Through the help of the Vaizards (Masked army), Ichigo was able to defeat his inner hollow, and gain vaizard powers as well.
