Izuru Kira is the Lieutenant of the 3rd Division in the Gotei 13. Izuru Kira comes from the lesser nobility of Soul Society. He attended the Shininigami Academy with friends and future Lieutenants Momo Hinamori, Shuhei Hisagi, and Renji Abarai. Izuru is often shown with a worried and anxious look on his face. Despite his appearances, Izuru is a 
highly loyal and will follow orders without question. But his loyalty was taken advantaged of by Gin Ichimaru during his deception to betray Soul Society. Izuru even raised his sword against his close friend, Momo Hinamori, who tried to kill the traitorous Gin. Izuru later greatly regretted his actions.
Izuru’s Zanpakuto is Wabisuke (Apologizer), its shikai command is “raise your head.” After activation, the blade bends to form a square hook. Wabisuke has the unique ability to double the weight of anything it strikes. With a second hit, the weight doubles again, and so on. During a duel, an opponent will be unable to leaf his sword after only a few blocks against Izuru’s Zanpakuto.
