Shuhei Hisagi is the Lieutenant of the 9th Division who served under former Captain Kaname Tosen. Shuhei has a very serious attitude and has shown to be level headed even in dangerous situations. He prefers to avoid violent, but is actually a highly proficient fighter with his zanpakuto. Shuhei has virtuous and chivalrous ideals and looked up to his former Captain because they appeared to share the same views. Kaname Tosen’s betrayal shocked Shuhei, and he has made a pact with Sajin Komamura to save Tosen from his own twisted view of justice.
The number 69 tattooed on his left cheek was inspired by Kensei Muguruma, a former member of the 9th Division who became a vizard. Kensei had saved Shuhei from a Hollow attack while he was still a child living in Rukongai. Shuhei saw the number 69 on Kensei’s chest and decided to mimic his hero with his own tattoo. The scar on the left side of Shuhei’s face was acquired during an incident in his early days as a Shinigami. Shuhei and two classmates led a group of new Shinigami students on a training excursion to the human world, among them were Hinamori, Kira, and Renji. A sudden attack by powerful Hollows killed several students. Shuhei stayed behind to try to buy time for the others to escape and received his scars after being injured. The Hollow were eventually killed by the timely arrival of Captain Sousuke Aizen and Gin Ichimaru.
Shuhei’s zanpakuto is called Kazeshini (Wind Death). Its shikai command is “reap” after which it transforms into two scythe-formed weapons similar to kamas. Shuhei has stated that he dislikes the shape of his zanpakuto because it is shaped like something meant only to kill. Despite this, Shuhei is highly skilled with his weapon. The blades are attached to long chains that allow Shuhei to use them as long range projectiles whose trajectories can be changed at any time. Shuhei’s bankai, if it exists, has not been revealed.

when i first saw him, i thought he was cool, cuz he had that tattoo. then i saw kensei and found out he had copied it. i’m not disappointed…
kensei is on his way to battle where they might meet, can’t wait for their reactions. kensei prolly won’t recognize him, except for the copied tattoo maybe…

I think Hisagi is cool. He didn’t copy Kensei’s tatto. He got the tattoo to because Kensei saved his life when he was younger. Anyways, I love Shūhei, he’s awesome!!!
