Much to his annoyance, Ichigo goes with his family and classmates to an abandoned hospital for a live recording of Ghost Bust, a popular show staring Don Kanoji, an eccentric spirit medium. However, it turns out that Kanoji’s method of “exorcising” spirits actually accelerates their transformation in Hollows. Ichigo transforms into his Shinigami form to battle the Hollow, but Kanoji insists on helping. They eventually defeat the Hollow on the rooftop and Kanoji is made aware of what he has been doing. He is grateful to Ichigo and makes Ichigo his “student.”
