Ichigo arrives at school and finds that Rukia has disguised herself as a new transfer student. She asks him to take on her Shinigami duties since she lost her powers, but Ichigo refuses. Rukia convinces Ichigo by having him save a child’s spirit from a Hollow at a park.
Ichigo and Rukia run into Orihime, Rukia notices an odd injury on her leg and suspects a Hollow was involved. Later that night, the Hollow Acidwire attacks Ichigo in his own bedroom. Luckily, Rukia had taken residence in Ichigo’s closest and transforms him into a Shinigami in time to chase it off. At Orihime’s home Tatsuki arrives to have dinner with her. They are frightened when they hear an ominous sound.
