Episode 008 – June 17, a Memory of Rain
Ichigo and his family go visit his mother’s grave as they always do on the anniversary of her death. He is shocked when Rukia shows up too. Rukia suggests that a Hollow may have killed his mother, but he insists that it was only an accident caused by his own careless actions. Later, a shinigami named Saidou Eikichirou sent to track down Rukia approaches Rukia and asks about Ichigo. When Ichigo shows up, Saidou attacks him is intrigued that a human can transform into a shinigami. But their battle is halted when Rukia receives orders about an usually strong Hollow that appeared nearby. They rush back because Rukia fears Ichigo’s family may be in danger again. Her hunch is correct as the Hollow attacks Karin and Yuzu, but plans on using them as bait.
