Things quickly get out of control as more and more Hollow enter into Karakura Town. A tentacled Hollow attacks Orihime and her friends at school. Its attacks allow her to gain control of the victim and soon even Orihime’s friend, Tatsuki, has turned on her. While trying to save her friends, Orihime discovers her own hidden power, the Shun Shun Rikka – a group of fairy creatures which emerged from the hairpins given to her by her brother. With their help, Orihime defeats the Hollow and heals her friends. Afterwards, Kisuke Urahara takes in Orihime and Chad to help them with their new powers while Rukia and Ichigo confront Ishida.
