As the Hollows continue to gather, Ichigo and Ishida are forced to team up together. Ishida reveals that his grandfather, a Quincy, was abandoned by the Shinigami when he encountered a group of powerful Hollow. A Menos Grande Hollow appears and towers over everything. Ichigo astonishes everyone when he is able to unleash his full power to defeat it. However, he is unable to control that power afterwards, but Ishida saves him by releasing the excess energy through his bow.
