Kon is tired of being mistreated by Ichigo, the final straw comes when Karin glues a toy flower to his ear. He runs away only to find a new owner, but finds even worse abuses elsewhere. At Urahara’s Shop, he meets Urahara’s cat, Yoruichi, who amazingly has the ability to speak. At school, Ichigo attempts to be friends with Ishida, but their personalities seem to clash. Rukia’s mind seems elsewhere; something is troubling her. That night, Rukia leaves Ichigo’s house after leaving behind a note. She knows that hunters from Soul Society are after her, and she does not want to endanger Ichigo.
