Episode 20: Gin Ichimaru’s Shadow

In Soul Society, Byakuya is met by fellow captains Kenpachi Zarachi and Gin Ichimaru, who remark about how calm Byakuya is despite having announced to his own sister her death sentence. Kenpachi almost gets into a fight with Byakuya, but Gin pulls him away. Back under Urahara’s Shop, Urahara reveals his own Zanpakuto, Benihime, and attacks Ichigo. Ichigo’s goal is only to knock off Urahara’s hat, but it soon becomes a fight for survival because he cannpt fight back with a broken Zanpakutou. The spirit visits Ichigo again and Ichigo is finally able to hear his name: Zangetsu. Ichigo unleashes the full power of his Zanpakuto in the form of a huge blast which knocks off Urahara’s hat. His Zanpakuto also gains a new form: a cleaver-like blade and no hilt guard. Meanwhile, Orihime and Chad, finish their training with Yoruichi, and Ishida completes his own self-training. A few days later, everyone gathers under Urahara’s shop and set out for Soul Society using a Senkai Gate that Urahara had created. They enter the gate with Yoruichi as their guide.
