Bleach Manga Chapter 5: Blinda blinda

Ichigo arrives to save Inoue, but is surprised to find her soul has been separated from her body. The Hollow attacks Ichigo in the confusion. It whips its tail at Ichigo who blocks with his Zanpakutou, but realizes he can’t cut through the scales. Ichigo is knocked outside where the Hollow spits acid on him and knocks him to the ground with another whip of his tail.

The Hollow reveals his identity to Inoue, who recognizes that it is her dead brother Sora. Outside, Rukia scolds Ichigo for getting beat up so easily. Knowing that Inoue’s brother is the Hollow is affecting Ichigo’s fighting ability. Rukia warns him that if he loses, Inoue’s soul will be eaten.

When Inoue’s asks his brother why he has attacked her friends, his brother’s answer is that they were tearing Inoue away from him. When Sora first died, Inoue had prayed to him everyday. But when Tatsuki and Ichigo appeared, that time diminished until Inoue stopped all together. Hearing her talk about Ichigo all the time was painful for Sora. He was so lonely that he wanted to kill.

Ichigo leaps back into the room to attempt a sneak attack, but Sora was aware and strikes him down again with his tail. Inoue begins to cry and tells Sora his brother wasn’t a person who would hurt others like this. Sora goes berserk because he blames Inoue for turning him into a Hollow. He threatens to kill Inoue and begins to crush her, but Ichigo slices his hand off. To Ichigo, the big brother is supposed to always protect his siblings; hearing Sora threaten to kill Inoue enrages Ichigo and makes him get serious.
