Bleach Manga Chapter 10: Monster and a Transfer pt.2 (The Deathberry)

Chad’s strike pummels the Hollow into the ground. Rukia tells it to accept defeat but the Hollow just laughs. It hints to Rukia that it did not defeat the two Shinigami before her by himself. Suddenly, dozens of small frog-like creatures appear and force Rukia and Chad to the ground.

While the Hollow gloats over them, Chad once again demonstrates his power by brushing all the Hollow’s minions off of him with sheer muscle power. Rukia calls out to Chad to kick above her and clear the minions off her back. The Hollow takes off to the sky again. Chad begins punching randomly once more, but Rukia directs him to help her. She curls up into a ball and tells Chad to throw her at the Hollow in the air. Chad comments that it seems like a really bad idea.

But Rukia insists and after some aiming, Chad launches Rukia into the air. But as Rukia approaches the Hollow, one of the minions appears from hiding inside the Hollow’s fur and spits out a volley of leeches at Rukia.

Chad rushes over to break Rukia’s fall. Rukia struggles but cannot remove the leeches. The Hollow lands and reveals to her that the leeches are his miniature bombs. It begins emitting a high pitched sound from its forked tongue, causing the leeches to explode.

The Hollow then has one of his minions bring forward the cage with the possessed parakeet inside. It threatens to kill the bird if Rukia and Chad don’t obey him. The Hollow orders Rukia to start running and become his prey. Rukia tells Chad not to worry about her and takes off.

Multiple minions chase after Rukia and manage to spit more leeches onto her. The Hollow triggers them to explode and causes severe injuries to Rukia’s arm. But even covered with blood, Rukia continues to run. The Hollow is thrilled by the hunt but is surprised when Rukia suddenly stops.

She tells the Hollow there is no need to run anymore because her substitute has arrived. From above, Ichigo appears and puts his foot down on the Hollow’s head. He tells the Hollow that if it wants to chase a Shinigami, it’s after the wrong opponent.
