Bleach Manga Chapter 12: The Gate of The End

Ichigo rips out the Hollow’s tongue, but before it can retaliate he plunges his Zanpakutou into its leg. He tells the Hollow the savor the feeling because it’s the same experienced by those he murdered.

The Hollow is so desperate that it cuts off its own leg in order to escape. But Ichigo is not letting it escape. He leaps after it and slashes through its Hollow mask.

A beam of energy appears from behind the mask and suddenly a giant gate appears in a large roar. Rukia explains that it is the Gates of Hell. A zanpakutou cleanses sins, but for Hollows who committed terrible crimes as humans, they are doomed to enter hell.

The gates creak open and a gigantic sword skewers the Hollow through the middle of its body. From the darkness inside the gate, a huge being can be seen. It laughs coldly as it drags the Hollow inside. The Gates of Hell shut close and break apart.

Ichigo and Rukia rejoin Chad and the parakeet. Rukia examines the bird and informs Shibata that his soul chain has been severed and he can no longer return to his human body. Rukia tries to counsel Shibata by telling him how good Soul Society is. But it is Ichigo who rekindles Shibata’s spirit by telling him his mother is waiting for him on the other side.

Before departing, Shibata thanks Chad for all he has done. Chad asks Shibata to allow him to carry him on his shoulder if they meet again in Soul Society. Ichigo then proceeds to release Shibata’s soul.

At the Kurosaki Clinic, Karin clutches her pillow and thanks Ichigo in her sleep.
