Bleach Manga Chapter 15: Jumpin’ Jack’ Jolted

Keigo, Asano and Chad return from their lunch break. Keigo is whining because he suspects Ichigo ran off with Rukia. They return to the classroom to find an extremely furious Tatsuki standing in a rubble of desks and chairs.

The principal arrives at the door demanding to know what happened. Michiru and Ryou cover for Tatsuki by saying that a stranger entered through the window and Tatsuki was just trying to get rid of him. The principal lets them off the hook. After he leaves, everyone begins to talk about Ichigo’s weird behavior, but Orihime insists that it was not Ichigo.

Rukia and Ichigo have lost track of the soul in Ichigo’s body. Ichigo still can’t get over the embarrassment because the soul kissed Tatsuki and Orihime while in his body; it completely shatters the image he was building over the years. He then asks Rukia about the Mod-Soul she was talking about.

Rukia explains that Soul Society was has an operation called “Spearhead.” Its goal was to create and insert Mod-Souls into dead human bodies to strengthen one characteristic of the body and make these super-humans fight Hollows. From the jumping abilities of the Mod-Soul in Ichigo’s body, it must have enhanced strength in its legs.

Operation Spearhead was cancelled before it could be put into effect and all Mod-Souls were ordered to be destroyed. But it appears at least one had escaped that fate. Ichigo is uneasy with this because the Mod-Souls were created and killed all for the convenience of Soul Society. Rukia replies that Soul Society’s rules must be followed because they were created to protect human spirits.

Meanwhile the Mod-Soul is taking Ichigo’s body for a joy ride across town, blatantly showing his super human jumping ability to everyone on the streets. Yuzu and Karin spot their brother when he jumps over five meters above their school’s wall. Midoriko had also seen Ichigo’s feat, but Karin threatens her into forgetting. The soul stops when he sees a group of three kids skipping gym class to play their video games. He drops by but his expression suddenly grows cold when he hears one boy deleting a character he just created as if it were nothing.

At the Urahara Shop, a teary eyed Ururu apologize to Urahara. He pats her on the head and tells her he is not mad. Tessai reports they are ready and all four members of the shop head out carrying strange weapons.
