Bleach Manga Chapter 19: 6/17 op.3 “memories in the rain”

Rukia sits alone on a hill above the graveyard. She regrets saying what she did to Ichigo but still doesn’t believe that he caused his mother’s death. Kon comes out hiding from her backpack and complains that all she thinks about is work. Rukia grows quiet when he tells her she’ll lose friends if she always puts her work first.

Standing over his mother’s tombstone, Ichigo remembers back to his childhood. He had always been able to see ghosts. As a child, young Ichigo sometimes could not tell the difference between living people and the ghosts. It was a rainy day on June 17th, Ichigo’s mother was taking him back home from karate practice. Everything was normal until Ichigo spotted the figure of a girl by the riverbank. Believing that she was going to jump, Ichigo rushed over the railings to get to her. Ichigo’s mother screamed after him to stop. Everything happened in a blur. When Ichigo opened his eyes again, his mother lay over him with blood spilling from a large wound. The girl Ichigo saw earlier had disappeared.

At a corner of the graveyard, Karin sits with Yuzu who is sobbing like she always does during these visits. As they walk back to meet their dad, Karin spots a girl standing very close to a cliff. Karin also has the power to see ghosts like her brother and starts talking to the girl. The mysterious girl says she is very pleased. An enormous Hollow suddenly appears from behind her.
