Bleach Manga Chapter 179 – Confession In The Twilight

After Aizen’s treason, the Fourth squad tends to the injured. Unohana starts healing Byakuya, who has an important story to tell Rukia.
In a flashback, he remembers Hisana – his late wife, who was actually Rukia’s sister. Rukia is shocked by this statement, so Byakuya continues to explain that since he broke the rules by merrying a peasent, he swore never to break the rules again. But he also made a promise to Hisana to always protect Rukia. Thus he could not choose between breaking the rules or braking his wifes’ last wish. He appologizes to Rukia and thanks Ichigo for showing him the right path.
The chapter ends with a discussion between Isane and Unohana about the past events.
