Ichigo tells Ulquiorra to step away from Orihime. The Espada replies that his only order were to protect Las Noches and has no intention of killing Orihime until ordered by Aizen. However, he sees Ichigo as a threat to Las Noches and draws out his sword. Ichigo asks Ulquiorra is he has recognized him as a worthy opponent, Ulquiorra replies that he views Ichigo as someone who needs to be destroyed.

On the other front, above Fake Karakura Town, Barrigan proclaims himself as the leader seeing as Aizen is temporarily indisposed. He tells Yamamoto that he sees through his replica town and knows the way to enter the real Karakura Town is to destroy the four pillars in each cardinal direction. He orders on his Faccion, Findor, to call forth four Hollows at each pillar’s location, but they are instantly dispatched by the Shinigami guarding the pillars: Shuhei Hisagi, Izuru Kira, Ikkaku Madarame and Yumichika Ayasegawa
