Kensei realizes that the ten uniforms belong to the first ten shinigami that were sent to the scene of the accident. he then orders his subordinates to set up camp, contact the other captains and snd a request to the 12th division ofr a researcher.
Meanwhile at the 12th Division barracks, Mayuri and Hiyori have an argument about who has the higher rank. Urahara interrupts their conversation and introduces the new gigai he has just invented. He claims this new faux body might be able to stop the souls from falling apart. One of the shinigami from the 9th Division, who was sent by Kensei appears and asks for assistance, Urahara sends Hiyori to help out and collect samples.
Back at the camp, Kensei and his men are attacked by an unknown being. Kensei’s subbordinates are killed and the captain himself is stabbed in the back.
In Seireitei an emergency meeting is announced and all the captains are assembled. Urahara worries about Hiyori and decides to go after her.
