Although Aizen claims to be the one responsible for the destabilization of the missing souls, Shinji is not surprised. He states that he has always suspected Aizen and that was the reason why he chose him as Liutenant. Aizen starts playing mental games with Shinji and mocks him to no end. He explains his actions to the captain and points out that Shinji’s own plan backfired on him.
Shinji gets up and tries to attack Aizen, but suddenly a hollow mask starts forming on his face. He is terrified to see hollow masks appear on his friends’ faces, as well. Aizen then decides to get rid of all of his ‘experimental materials’ and gives Tousen the order to kill everybody. However, at that moment, Kisuke and Tessai arrive at the scene.
