Bleach Episode 205: Thump! The Football Tournament of Hollows
Rurichiyo and Kenryuu decide to settle their dispute with a soccer (technically it’s kemari, a form of soccer played in ancient Japan) match and they split up Ichigo and friends into opposing teams. Rurichiyo’s team consists of herself, Orihime, Chad, Ichigo and Enryuu while Kenryuu has Ishida, Kon (in Ichigo’s body), Rukia and Yoruichi on his side. The whole thing is “sponsored” by Urahara and his group acts as the referees and commentators; Ikkaku also makes a guest appearance as a substitute player.
A big and ugly Hollow shows up after being attracted by the energy released during the game, but the gang make crab meat out of him (talk about being at the wrong place at the wrong time). Kenryuu selfless saves Rurichiyo when the Hollow attacked and the two make up with each other. Later, Shuu shows up and informs Rurichiyo about the mountains of letters that have come in from the commoners asking about the soccer tournament she announced. Kenryuu gives his support for the tournament and returns to Soul Society with Rurichiyo.

Thank god that’s over with, at least this filer was short at only 2 episodes. Next week is the start of the anime version of Turn Back the Pendulum story arc from the Bleach manga.

Thats good, but to me, the pendulum arc is a little boring too. I know its necessary to understand the current events, but I’m so into the fight thats about to occur with the captains and the espada, the pendulum story just kind of gets on my nerves. oh well.

SSj I second that.
And now I have to watch this Pendulum thing. It would be much easier if they save that for later and when all Pendulum chapters come out they animate that like a real filler and not this football $h**.
They interrupt fight in Karakura town for this…I don’t know how to call this football filler, let’s just say I wasn’t impressed at all.

I’d take actual manga-based material over random filler anyday. I actually like the pendulum arc cause I wanted to know more about the vizards, but I agree that its timing is really bad.
