Bleach Chapter 378 – Eyes Of The Victor
This week’s song is “Fly Me To The Other Moon” again by High and Mighty Color. Good thing I found this player, it’s much better than imeem.
Finally, things are back to the way they should be – Ichigo destroying everything with ease. Haven’t seen a thing like that since he beat Jidanbou about 300 chapter ago. After almost half an year of 50 people kicking 3 Espadas asses in the real world, the protagonist is about to show us how it’s really done!
It’s too bad my theory of Unohana fighting Yammi didn’t catch fire inside Kubo Tite’s brain, but this works out quite nicely, as well. The symmetry is complete – Ichigo fights 10, 6, 4, 0 and is somehow able to beat 10 and 0 (even though they’re the same person) easily, while 4 and 6 were almost impossible. Thank God for the Strawberrizer.
This chapter focuses around Yammi’s fight against the good guys in Hueco Mundo. The last he was shown he was about to attack Rukia, Chad and Renji and it looks like he had absolutely no trouble beating all three to death. Only Rukia with the last of her powers is able to aim a horribly ineffective kidou spell at the Espada. Yammy, who has so far tried his best not to kill her in a second, gets angry and throws her to the ground.
And that’s when the long expected main character makes his entrance.
Similar to what happened in Soul Society Ichigo saves Rukia right at the last second. But this time something’s different and Rukia knows it. Just by looking in his eyes she realizes something’s wrong – his usual piercing gaze is now distorted and his resolve seems to have changed. Even though he’s going to go all out on Yammi, he still hasn’t forgotten his battle with Ulquiorra, who practically beat him. I think that really shouldn’t matter to him anymore and he should just concentrate on humiliating his current foe.
Of course Ichigo always listens to me. As soon as Yammi charges his first attack – a Cero Oscuras, Ichigo swiftly eliminates it by sending a Gesuga Tenshou straight into his mouth. Yammi quickly recovers from the shock and continues attacking in a chaotic manner. Getting more and more pissed is natural for him – he hasn’t got the nerves to chase around Ichigo like a nerdy scientist chases a butterfly. The Espada’s rampage threatens Ichigo’s friends, so he decides to lure Yammi away to a secluded place, where they can fight to their hearts’ content. Easily dodging and blocking all attacks, using shunpo to swirl around his giant enemy, Ichigo is obviously on a completely new power level than before. The two opponents appear to be even, even though the shinigami substitute hasn’t even brought out his hollow mask yet. He only does that when he senses that his friends are far enough away. Needless to say Yammi gets destroyed with just one Getsuga Tenshou.
There are a lot of changes to Ichigo’s overall battle skills, but perhaps the most noticeable is the change in his mask. It now looks like the Ichigonator’s mask, but without the horns. Now we know that ever since the mask first made its appearance the number of stripes it possesses has constantly been changing, but such a drastic change has never occurred before. The change of the color scheme might be a way of showing that Ichigo’s inner hollow is evolving, but why did the horns have to disappear? Also Ichigonator’s mask was like a helmet, while this one only covers the face, like Ichigo’s regular mask until now. Hopefully that means Ichigo still has more upgrading to do.
It’s also encouraging to see that his shinigami powers have increased a lot – he was on par with Yammi even without his mask, which means he’s now reached the level of the top tier captains like Shunsui and Ukitake.

sweet Chapter they made Ichigo looks so cool! Man… im just speachless but to be honest i was kinda hoping to see a fight with… the guy with the tatoo and the black hair i ALWAYS forget his name but he’s one of my favourites… it’ll come to me XD

Indeed has mask has changed. It went easier than expected. Didnt think the Hollow would roll over to give him the rest. Maybe the pure instinct that powered the ichigonator was clear enough the hollow isnt strong enough anymore(Thou I hope he will show up at some point).
Tho he seems to be easily overpowering Yammi. The big bully probably has some abilty somewhere hidden in that body of his. It’s huge enough to function as a buildings foundation.
Still.. Even if Ichigo takes all this new power to the SS vs Aizen. What is he gonna do? Thou not directly he has been attack by Aizen with his sword. So he’s probably already unders its spell.

either ichigo just went super saiyan 2 again or the cero espada aint that big a deal after all…quite frankly i didnt enjoy this chapter much–i wish chad didnt need ichigo’s help, just becuz he’s the main character doesn’t mean he shud always save the day. this isnt superman cartoon

I wanted to see how renji and chad got their asses kicked. If a low-level spell like sokatsui (im’ saying low-level because compared to the other spells, it is pretty weak) managed to “hurt” yammi, then what did renjis baboon cannon did? Or chads thingy (forgot the name of his technique)?

bruji: Yammi was just joking when he said that “it hurts” i think. i mean right after that he threw her and if you looked at his face there wasnt even a scratch. even after the getsuga to the face i didnt see any sign of damage so i hope that means that Yammi isnt finished yet. If ichigo defeats an espada who is supposdly stronger then starrk he better at least have help dammit! or at least make the fight last longer then one chapter!

With Yammy at that size, I think all he had was to fart and everyone would be knocked out. It looks like now that Ichigo is here, Yammy is about to receive some major ass kicking. But of course Yammy is just the appetizer before Ichigo has the face Aizen and his groupies. That’s a classic move in a lot of shonen manga – have the hero beat a weaker opponent before truly putting him to the test in the ‘real’ fight. Another classic shonen moment I noticed is having the hero save the girl and then not look at her while she stares in awe at him — most guys would check if she’s alright, but these guys are too cool for that LOL
