Bleach Chapter 410 – Deicide 12
He’s baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!! The face of wrath is back in action motha fuckas! This chapter kicked ass for that reason alone. Slow on development, and about 2 min. of actual-time, the chapter wouldn’t have been very interesting if it weren’t for the “source of despair” Tensa (Zangetsu) tore from Ichigo.
The chapter begins with Tensa Zangetsu bashing Ichigo a little more. Clearly outmatched, the strawberry asks Tensa to explain himself. It seems that the appearance of his inner world is in direct correlation with Ichigo’s heart. Tensa knows that merely teaching Ichigo the final Getsuga Tensho isn’t going to steady his heart, and ready him to fight Aizen. If his inner world (which is what Tensa wants to protect) is going to be stable, and in turn a comfortable home for Tensa, then other measures need to be taken.
Tensa brutally tears through Ichigo’s chest (the same spot his hollow hole was) and pulls out Ichigo’s inner hollow. It’s about time if you ask me. Last time they met, Hollow-Ichigo told Ichigo that if he ever wanted to fully grasp his powers he would have to live to face him one more time. Well lets get it on bitches! His sudden appearance also brings a new form we have only seen once before; in the fight against Ulquiorra. It is similar, but not exactly the same. This form is surely what Ichigo will look like if he can master this final test. The mask he most recently donned was clearly an incomplete attempt to tap into this power. As illustrated by Kaname, if vaizards master their hollow powers even further, they can gain more than just a mask to their armor.
Hollow Ichigo vs. Ichigo
When Ichigo faces Aizen, he will have not only this new gear, but he will hopefully have also mastered the other entity lurking inside him – Zangetsu. I’m hoping it brings more than just a fancy new slash, but I’ll be happy with anything after seeing his new hollow form.
As for the rest of the chapter, it was just meh. There was some boring ass conversation between Ichigo’s friends, then they are finally confronted by Aizen and Gin. It appears, since they do hold some spiritual presence, they are able to at least survive in front of him. Gin is clear evidence that anybody of Captain level or above isn’t really phased by his rietsu directly.
Aizen reveals that he did have clear intentions when killing the janitor; knowing Isshin would find that opportunity to train Ichigo. I find it funny how he withheld this part of the plan from Gin though. It seems his deepest desire, along with creating the key (if that is his real plan) is to have Ichigo at maximum capacity before he “eats” him. I think it is safe to say that Aizen has some connection to hollows, and clearly Ichigo does too. There doesn’t seem to be too many ways for Aizen to become stronger than he is right now, other than doing what hollows do to ascend; eat other strong beings like themselves. So maybe that is Aizen’s secondary goal.
Whose god damn foot is this?
Anyways, just before Aizen kills Tatsuki to push Ichigo’s rage, someone appears behind her. This is quite a cliffhanger if you ask me. I have a couple theories as to who it could be though:
1.) The first and most boring one is that Keigo grew a pair and came back to sacrifice himself for her. I pray to God that isn’t it.
2.)It is somebody from fake Kurakara town. Like I said two chapters ago, there were a few possible shinigami who could have shown up in real Kurakara town – Matsumoto, Shunsui, Unohana, etc…
3.) It’s possible Isshin ran ahead, but I doubt it since he was supposed to hold off the current.
4.) It is Uryuu’s dad. He lives here too, and surely has enough spiritual pressure to be awake right now. I would be interested to see his power.
5.) It is Ichigo. It could be that Tite is narrating in a way to confuse us. Remember only an hour goes by in the real world while Ichigo is training. Where Aizen and Gin are, Ichigo could already have finished his training and be ready to confront them. Of course Tite would show the inner-world fight/training through a flashback before continuing to show us the final confrontation.
-I didn’t care to look back through the chapters to compare feet. I’ll let you guys do that for me

Anyways, Deicide sets a new record for most number of chapters, just in time for a “Black and White” and “Dark Side of the Universe!”

Whoever’s foot that is is probably a shinigami, since you can barely make out the little skull mark thing on it… Also, I’m almost certain Tatsuki won’t die just yet, unless that is Ichigo right there. If it is Ichigo, Aizen might make Ichigo bare witness to his death, but I can’t think of any other reasonable excuse Kubo will have for her to die.
On to the subject of Tensa and Hollow Ichigo, Ichigo has no chance unless Tensa teams up with him. Compared to the losing position Ichigo was in confronting Ulquiorra compared to the ease he defeated him as a hollow, unless Ichigo learns the Final mid-battle, it’s over.
Can’t wait for next weeks chapter!

Could be Tsukabishi Tessai. He wasn’t present to fight in fake Karakura, so chances are that he’s awake in the real Karakura, him being the Kido Captain and all that.

It’s most likely one of two individuals who couls easily be in karakura town.
Ryuuken and Tessai. Personally, I hope Ryuuken. I’d love to see a quincy who is on par with captains. I loved how Tensa Zangetsu ripped out the hollow. This sort of mean that neither of them are in true control, this battle will probably make sure which one it is.
Ichigo did look that that. But in his fight against Uli all his clothes were blown to crap. The pic you used in the top kind of makes him looks like Iron-man:P

so rather than rain, ichigo’s world is now drowning in the sea. pretty bad if u ask me. no wonder tensa is a bit pissed off.
well anyway. when he masters this, things should get boring, not interesting. cuz there shouldn’t be anything else left except for a real battle with aizen.
i think the one who’s appearing is ishida’s dad as well.

if the hollow and zangetsu are two different entities just like i said on the comments on last chapter, i really wonder… who is stronger? zangetsu/tensa or that hollow??
before, i thought that zangetsu and the hollow are one and the same, only each reflecting a different aspect of ichigo’s soul. but now, instead of the hollow coming from zangetsu’s robe (like the first time he appeared), the hollow came out of ichigo’s heart… what’s going on? and to add to that, tensa zangetsu isn’t really fond of the inverse color dude.

@lilmoe Even if Ichigo gets on par with Aizen, power wise. That twisted man still has his zanpaktou’s ability.
Zangetsu is ‘simply’ trying to force Ichigo to get moving foreward. He’s more forcefull that the old man Zangetsu thats for sure, but this chap confirmes he has similar feeling towards the word he lives in like old-man Zangetsu. He will do anything to help Ichigo move foreward, even if it means putting his own existence at risk.

my money goes to Mizuiro in shinigami form. He always bore a strong resemblance to toshiro in personaly and it seems inevitable that ichigo’s friends gain strong powers or unlock them

wow good call gaiden. it totally went right over my head that they were talking about mizuiro the whole chapter before aizen showed up. i guess its not the least likely scenario. he could have powers, definitely not enough to keep up with aizen, but maybe hold him off for a sec. i still think uryuu’s dad has to show up at some point though.

true… but we don’t know the true extent of tensa zangetsu’s powers as of yet. we don’t even know what that new hollow form is, nor what it came from (it’s the same hollow dude, but now he’s changed)…
it’s a bit confusing. we know the power and nature of all other zambakutos we’ve seen so far, but zangetsu/tensa-zangetsu are just too mysterious. all we get is that ichigo needs to build his resolve. what the heck is that supposed to mean? didn’t he already do that when he defeated the hollow?
as of this point, ichigo himself doesn’t know his own powers… and we didn’t yet get an explanation of how that hollow came to be.
lots of holes to be filled.

This chapter was amazing, short, but amazing it even had one of Tite’s famous cliffhangers. I shall start from the beginning, Ichigo is in his inner world fighting Tensa Zangetsu and asks him why it is he doesn’t want to protect what Ichigo wants to protect- what I found in this was that, yes Tensa doesn’t care what happens in the world of the living simply what happens to Ichigo, or more specifically, Ichigo’s heart. It’s like old man Zangetsu said in the earlier chapters when Ichigo is emotional it rains in his inner world. Now not only has it rained and rained so much that his entire inner world is flooded but it’s become Karakura town. It’s become a flooded Karakura town I believe because after everything with Orihime and Hueco Muendo his heart is left in oblivion, the rain has stopped but he no longer knows how to protect but will still do anything to gain these new powers. Let’s get this clear though, Tensa Zangetsu and Zangetsu are two completely different people, almost like night and day( besides looks for that matter). Zangetsu has taught Ichigo everything he can teach him, as said in the Muramasa arc. Now most of you are like “whats up with hollow Ichigo and chibi Zangetsu not being one?” Ya, I didn’t get this either, but my theory is that now with Ichigo’s hollowfication his inner hollow has become part of him not Zangetsu. I do not think that Ichigo will take on this form when he’s done, rather, I think that 2 things happen, Ichigo will be rid of his hollwfication and hollow alltogether, or pull an Arrancar and ditch the mask for a greater more absolute power, like one that he can’t unhollowfy from, not saying he’ll be an Arrancar just that he will fuse with his hollow completely or something. I think the mask will come off for good.

Now on to Karakura town, Aizen is about to kill Tatsuki and Keigo to further Ichigo’s progress, and then there’s the foot. I don’t care so much about these elements as I do about Aizen’s (recently crazier) obssesion with Ichigo reaching absolute perfection. I definately think this has to do with Aizen’s new hollowfication, yes that’s what it is he even has a hollow’s hole. I understand the wanting to eat Ichigo because of that, I think that he figures if he eats Ichigo he’ll be an absolute God, and I agree with this. He’ll be a heck of alot more powerful than any other being in Soul Society and definately the world of the living. I think he wants to be Soul King, our dear Rioue here. But, what I’m more interested in is the fact that Ichigo is absolutely oblivious to his abilities. The power that Ichigo’s hollow posesses, which is a great power indeed seeing as it blew half of the roof of Las Noches away( and Las Noches is very big), that power was his to begin with, if he could get a grasp on these god-like abilities, he could own Aizen like 7 times over
And I think the foot is Ishida’s dad, Ryuuken.

lilmoe, I think that Tensa is more powerful than old man Zangetsu, because I mean shikai vs. bankai, but I think that hollow Ichigo is still stronger than either of them. I mean he freakin pretty much has Tensa at his bec and call, the telekinisos I mean, that was pretty dang cool:)

I hated the second half of this chapter. Tite ended chapter 409 with Tatsuki and Keigo meeting Aizen, then in 410 he rewound it and added pages of irrelevant conversation. But then…this foot. I want it to be Ryuken, but I think its Mizuiro. First of all, he’s a complete mystery, doesnt think Keigo’s funny, is the only one of Ichigo’s friends NOT to show up in the Karakura Raizer filler and in Tite’s character book it says ‘He has a cute face, but he’s actually a ????’. Next chapter could be interesting.

I dont know about you guys, but I’d be pretty pissed if this new Hollow Form + Final Getsuga = Aizen’s power level. That just doesnt make any sense. The Hollow Form blew off half of Las Noches dome, Aizen could probably blow the hole thing up when he was normal. I mean, he’s stronger than the entire Espada (according to him), then he got upgraded to the cocoon stage where he made a joke of Isshin, Yoruichi and Kisuke, then he upgraded AGAIN! Ichigo shouldnt even be close to his power. It would be more believable if Aizen was still at base form, then when Ichigo gets all these power ups he would be a match, but definitely not now.
I think the Hogyouku should be more powerful than a hollow, and as a Shinigami, Aizen was light-years ahead of Ichigo.
Kyouka Suigetsu (FREAKING SHIKAI) > Tensa Zangetsu
Base Form Aizen’s Reiatsu and Shinigami skills > Bankai Ichigo’s Reiatsu and Shinigami skills
Hogyouku > Hollow
If my math is right, Aizen should STILL be stronger than Ichigo by far, even IF he masters his new powers.

i totally agree with most of what u said… i like the idea of the more “absolute power” that ichigo will eventually achieve.
i wonder if the hollow was a mere distraction aimed at ichigo by zangetsu or tensa-zangetsu (or whatever the true form of his power is) to put his mindset straight first.
but there’s something that’s not getting off my mind at all… and that’s ichigo’s dad. i mean come on, urahara and yuroichi were totally KO’ed after aizen’s super attack, while isshin just stood up cleaning dust off his ass and was just fine. we don’t even know what his true power is. nor do we know if he has a hollow or not just like ichigo.
ichigo and his dad might just have the same power after all. isshin mentioned that he’ll drain out all his “shinigami” powers to maintain the current. but never mentioned what’ll happen to him after that. he might use his hollow powers after that’s done… who knows!

@Stargirl, great analysis. Althou I think your wrong about Aizen and a hollow hole. The hougyoku is still embedded in his chest.
I still having trouble of seeing Mizuro as the helping hand. He hasn’t been hanging around Ichigo all that much in the Anime. I stil somewhat feel that he didn’t spend ‘enough’ time around Ichigo to develop any significant amount of power. Much like with Keigo and Tatsuki are still only are barely ‘keeping it together’, I can’t think of Mizuro suddenly standing well above them. It wouldn’t be the first surprise thou.
@lilmoe I think we can be pretty certain that Ishinn probably had a less troublesome time growing as a shinigami that Ichigo did… Honestly. I’d think i’d be totally nerfed if Ishinn actually did have hollow powers.

@karijow it really doesn’t compare with their power, that’s correct, but obviosly Tite Kubo knows something we don’t, LOL. Aizen keeps saying how he is going to help Ichigo reach perfection, and you would think that for him to have such a crazy plan he should be able to become even beyond that perfection. I think that he will do something to Ichigo so that after he’s achieved such absolute power he’ll have no choice but to submit. I mean there is something that Isshin and Aizen know about Ichigo, I still want to know what Aizen meant when he said “you are human and…” Oh! that kills me!
@lilmoe I totally agree with you there was something super fishy with Isshin just getting up like that, but I think he did that for the same reason that he didn’t use his bankai against Aizen; He was saving reiatsu for the moment in the Dangai so Ichigo could train. Why would Aizen have a problem with something like this, after all we just found out he wanted Ichigo to achieve this final getsuga tensho.
@ssj I think the Soul King is dead, but yes I think he ‘was’ really powerful, LOL, is that mean?

@karijow Yes, I should have tied the ins and ends of all my theories, but in your comments above that are concerning the point of power between Ichigo and Aizen there are a couple things you aren’t taking into consideration
1. It isn’t Ichigo’s strength or reiatsu that has peeged the intersts of Aizen, Kisuke, and Soul Society, it’s his growth rate. Ichigo is able to learn in battle at a ridiculous curb, he learns a bit about the opponent whenever he clashes swords with them, as said a little earlier in the manga. In the Zanpakuto arc Muramasa’s spell was quickly proved ineffective after just one use, Zangetsu claimed “I’ve seen the atttack, it can no longer effect me”. If Ichigo were to be able to manifest this greater power beyond the final getsuga and Aizen decided to use his Kyouka Suigetsu’s total hypnosis on Ichigo forcing him to submit it’s possible that if he really does reach the point of perfection that Aizen wishes to drive him to he could break out of the hypnosis if Aizen lets up even once.
2. The second thing your forgetting is that Ichigo is the protagonist, he won’t lose, even if he did there would be a twist just like with Ulquiorra. It’s the common idea that the protagonist will always win.

@star, “it’s his growth rate. ” meh. I always thought that was just the Hogyouku helping him out. Ya know, granting his wishes. Because even with a high growth rate its still pretty ridiculous that he did in 3 days what Captains train for decades to centuries for.

Is everyone forgetting Orihme? Maybe aizen is assuming he’ll die, and orihme can like reborn aizen when ichigo is damaged, and than “eat him”. The point is, I think Orihme has another point other than luring ichigo. And even if Ichigo clearly stands no chance to his holow, he’ll win. He’s the main charecter. AND wtf is ichigo, human and ? RAWR, Bleach is coming to an end I think D:

@karijow remember that Kisuke achieved bankai using the same method as Ichigo, the one that he himself created, just as he created hougyoku- but the only difference is that Kisuke Urahara hadn’t yet created the hougyoku, it is still possible then.

@IamPIE yes, Orihime does have another purpose besides oggling Ichigo. She talked about in Hueco Muendo her plan to erase the hougyoku from existance, in some way this must be her purpose. I also believe that she has something to do with the Soul King, not a real princess or anything just maybe something to do with him

“meh” for me is when I really dont care one way or the other.
Anyhoo, its more believable with Kisuke because he had been a part of the Onmitsukido for a while, so I really have no complaints with him achieving Bankai. But Ichigo hadnt even been a shinigami for 2 months yet lol
