Bleach Chapter 412 – Diecide 14
J is off on a mission with silent Bob, so I’ll be filling in for him here and on Mellorine. I’m not in the greatest state of mind so excuse the lack of pictures, I decided links worked just as well for 10% of the effort. I’m going to keep it short and sweet with four major points.

1. Tatsuki: Waaaay back Tatsuki was exposed to hollows (pre-soul society arc) but she has been acting like Karin and ignoring the spirits. We later see her get re-introduced to them when Yami came to town, but she still hasn’t really come to terms with them, however in this chapter she notes Rangiku as one of “Ichigo’s friends” and in her typical R.B.D. fashion is angry at Ichigo for not mentioning her. Will her powers finally awaken and if they did would they be any use? or will she just be cannon folder for Aizen’s rampage? I’m guessing she’ll awaken her power only to have Aizen own her like everyone else.

2. This leads to my next point. Rangiku: Last chapter she arived to save the day, after which she promtly puts Don Konoji in his place. When she was yelling at him I couldn’t help but wonder if she was talking about what she would do or Aizen… Anyway, Aizen tells Gin that they’ve got time to kill, so Gin grabs Rangiku and takes her to a roof top, where she confronts him about her actions on the premise of Izuru’s honor, but Gin promtly sees through this and tells her she is in the way.

3. Then it skips over to Asano: We see him holding a sword, to which my first reaction was to think that he finally awakened his powers meaning Tatsuki would soon folow. But, it turns out he just took “afro-man’s” sword. Again this had me fooled thinking that Kensei was afro-man until I remembered that almost folder character who took over protecting Kakura town in Rukia’s place. This is also a reference to the rapper Afro-Man. I think his sword will shatter when Asano uses it since he isn’t pumping Reiatsu into it, OR Aizen will stab Asano with it to raise the spiritual awareness levels of Kakura town.

4. Finnaly we switch back to Rangiku: It seems like Gin has killed her, but this whole situation has made me think of the movie “Hero” about a man who learns how to fake assasinations by stabbing a person in the correct spot on their chest. He does this in order to get close to the Chinease Emporer to take revenge for his dead brother but in the end decides that killing the Emporer would only bring more instability and death, something his brother wouldn’t want, so he uses his same fake assasination technique on the emporer. The topper for this whole connection is that the name of his technique was also the “God Killing Spear” (lance) as it was meant for the Emporer or was treated like a god. Therefor following the metaphor, I think he is simply faking Rangiku’s death to get close to Aizen.
Enjoy and discuss.

Didn’t like this chapter all that much, most of the chapter is pretty weak imho. The predictable conversation between Matsumoto and Gin. Tatsuki and co running around going ape-shit. I suppose Gin could fake killing her. I doubt he has such an elaborate plan to do so. I somewhat doubt Gin is trying to be the ultimate double-agent. If there is something to wonder about as far as his personality goes. Why didn’t they lock him up in the same place as they did with Mayuri. They didn’t do anything ‘yet’. But the so called evil-potential is always there. Maybe the rules softend up after the whole Pendulum incident.
The one information bit you missed, is that Ishinn is really tired (already) from holding the time flow. However it probably does indicate the inner-fight with Ichigo will actually progress in the next chapter.

I actually like your last point about Gin. I saw Hero, and while it wasn’t an Academy Award winner, it still made you think. I thought the whole situation between Gin and Rangiku was just too, well, unnatural. I suppose we won’t find out for sure for a while though.
Next chapter will be back into Ichigo’s subconscious.

I like that Gin stabbed her in the neck, but it looks like Gin’s time is about up. Aizen-sama’s gonna beat Gin down lol
Y’know, for a while I thought Kubo was gonna make Keigo a Shinigami, glad he didnt lol. But if humans are waking up, just how weak is Zennosuke anyway? Since he has Shikai he must be of adequate level, better than the cannon fodder Shinigami, so just how low are the Shinigami standards? *sigh

Given that Shinigami don’t die in Bleach and that Gin is a genius I’m going with having performed some sort of chloroform kidou on Matsumoto…
I cannot for the life of me figure out why Kubo is focusing on these kids running around in the streets! Does anyone care? It doesnt add much to the emotional tension or investment in the characters (which is what I think he may be aiming for).
At least with Isshin tiring the inner battle should be drawing to close or, lol, he could mutter “last words” for the next 5 chapters to keep us on the edge of our seats hahaha!

Pretty weak chapter, I would have thought Ichigo’s friends would have been vaporized just by being close to Aizen, why is Tite Kubo focusing on them at all, they are not even funny, they are trying to hard. It is very interesting, Gin Ichimaru could be the best double agent ever, and yet Aizen could probably kill him with a look, Gin is a gambler that is for sure. Hope the next chapter is better. Aizen just finish Ichigo’s friends already.

jet lee was starring “hero” right?? i LOVED that movie. although the action was overly exaggerated to a sick point, i loved the moral of the story….
although nothing much happened, this chapter was pretty nice to an extent. it’s nice to see ichigo’s friends fighting to survive this ordeal, and how relatively calm they are about it. one couldn’t tell how inordinately cal they were until that girl (dunno the name) started freaking out… makes sense.
i don’t know about gin’s part, but all might be true as u say mart.
