Bleach Chapter 415 – Deicide 17

Read the Chapter

Well Aizen is still alive, and in turn so is the deicide… In response to the question raised last chapter – the answer is badass; Gin is a badass. The chapter finally gives the readers a “glimpse of the truth” of Gin. I think it’s safe to say that Gin is one of the top theorized characters in Bleach, so finally having some questions answered is a long awaited event.

I’m going to address the events chronologically, since the flashbacks are thrown in kind of randomly throughout the chapter. I can’t verify whether or not this scene occurs before or after Gin takes up becoming a shinigami, but I think it is before. Either way, long ago, Gin is wandering around Soul Society, when he finds a young, wounded, and possibly raped Matsumoto. He takes note of the guys walking away from her body, and after that is probably when he first meets her. If I remember correctly, in Matsumoto’s memory of meeting Gin, he saved her when she was in critical condition.

Later Gin finds those same guys, and wouldn’t you know it, they are some of Aizen’s first underlings. Gin notes that Aizen is the “boss” and decides that he is the one he has to get revenge on for Matsumoto. One very important fact about this scene is that Aizen already has the Hougyoku before Gin meets him. This means most of the following events in Gin’s life, like becoming a shinigami, entering the fifth division, and even the scene where he “ruthlessly” kills the third seat (which might have been one of the underlings that harmed Matsumoto) was just to get closer to Aizen. Talk about dedication.

gik

Back to the present, the chapter continues where the last left off. Gin’s poison deteriorates Aizen’s chest, exposing the Hougyoku. Gin reaches for it without hesitation. He gets it, but just afterwards is lashed by Aizen. I’d say the Gin is probably stronger than the average captain-level shinigami, and just a lash from the injured Aizen was enough to launch Gin back and blast off half his wrist.

All looks well for Gin. He thinks to himself that this whole ordeal is finally over, but then in a surge of rage, Aizen transforms once again. This is where I lost all respect for Aizen – he turned into a frickin butterfly. He looks retarded. It is possible that this is his version of a ressureccion – whatever he is.  I guess with the long hair he kind of looks angelic, which would be a fitting match against Ichigo’s new demonic-looking form.

lk

Aizen explains that even if you take the Hougyoku out of him, it will remain loyal, fore it knows its master. That is bullshit. Aizen is constantly living through the most ridiculous things, just because. We get it Tite, he is really strong! But at least stop leaving these cliffhangers with him “dying” at the end when we all know that he won’t die until at least 10 chapters of fighting Ichigo. The suspense is just gone until then.

Aizen then teleports to Gin, and cuts him down. This is probably the end of him for now, but I really hope he lives on afterwards. He might not have lived the best life, but he did it for what was right in the end. His life-journey with Aizen might have started as a romantic revenge, but I think once he caught wind of Aizen’s plans, he felt a sense of duty to stop him. He let himself be viewed as a villain by everyone, even the one he loved, just to end a great threat. He is like the Itachi of Bleach. It would make sense now why he abstained from fighting any of the good guys, except Ichigo, who he never intended on killing, and might have just been trying to make stronger.

hj

If Gin is dead, then he probably told Matsumoto everything right before incapacitating her. Someone has to know his story; his sacrifice.

Sweet job ssj. I quite enjoyed this chapter. Tite Kubo is obviously a Pokémon fan, what with Aizen continually evolving. HE EVEN LOOKS LIKE A BEAUTIFLY!

“Bah, this wont kill Aizen. There’s still too much mystery and build up around our favorite SSj3. Gin will get Aizen’d (the highest level of pwnin possible) next chapter”

HAHAHAHA! I CALLED IT! aizen didn’t die and gin got the pwning! Bwahahaha!

  • By Kvistikor, August 4, 2010 @ 6:01 pm

This chapter was pretty predictable, but it was still a pretty good chapter. I really hope Ichimaru is still alive…Now that I know the truth about him, he’s one of my favorite characters.

“Tite Kubo is obviously a Pokemon fan” Dang it, Karijow, you beat me to it!

Hopefully the story arc’ll switch back to Ichigo, I’m getting tired of the protagonists pwning Aizen then Aizen grows to level whatever and evolves…Heck, how many people has he pwned now? 10? This is getting absurd!

On another note, Aizen has evolved into…a…butterfly……………Wow. Talk about striking fear into the hearts of your enemies.

  • By madara uchiha, August 4, 2010 @ 6:41 pm

so now aizen is only bad guy remaining…funny u plan to rule a world where everyone hates you…ur master plan has left u all alone, ur already dead

  • By Kvistikor, August 4, 2010 @ 7:01 pm

“so now aizen is only bad guy remaining” Actually, I think Kubo forgot, but I think the battle against Yammy is still ongoing…Oh gosh, he BETTER not switch the plot to that, that’ll be miserable.

enjoy reading your review as much as the manga!

  • By stargirl, August 4, 2010 @ 10:37 pm

Well, ya, He’s a frickin butterfly. Baugh. I can’t handle this. Has anyone else noticed that Bleach is even more like Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World than DBZ? I don’t wanna get into stuff, figure it out yourselves.

This chapter was awesome, annoying, but awesome. I hope Gin is alive:( I also believe that Gin stabbed Rangiku where her soul chain is connected in order to protect her. I REALLY WANNA SEE ICHIGO ALREADY. If anyone has any idea what Ichigo’s “real” final form will look like please post your thoughts.

  • By baycel, August 5, 2010 @ 12:11 am

@stargirl his final form i think is the 1 he aizen’d (lol thx karijow) ulqi with except his clothes arent shredded ill post the link

  • By Shebeebee, August 5, 2010 @ 8:29 am

I’m going to against the grain here and say that I actually dig Aizen “The Pretty Butterfly” Sousuke! Come on let’s the honest, the new form is kinda awesome…yes? no?
What we’re seeing here, for those who said they’re sick of it, is the reflection of the typical scenario of the good guy being taken to the brink then overcoming overwhelming odds to win against a bunch of villains.
Gin is not dead (or even that badly injured I think), next issue will have him panting clutching his chest with blood seeping out from slash wound. I would not mind a few blows (hehehe) exchanged between him and Aizen for a couple of pages. He has to be alive, though, when Ichigo shows up so he can say, “Glad to see you found your resolve, you had me worried back there. Now you’re ready to face Aizen-sama you creepy kid!”

  • By Kvistikor, August 5, 2010 @ 11:18 am

I guess your opinion on Aizen’s new form is your perspective…He can be both a butterfly AND an angel…Though, the guy is pure insane evil, so I’m guessing he’s that butterfly from that SpongeBob episode.

  • By Pretend3r, August 5, 2010 @ 1:13 pm

I agree with most that Aizen has used up way too many, ‘getting out of a shitty-situation by evolving again’ cards. I don’t hate this form all that much, I kinda liked how his eyes look. They are even more ‘empty’ if you will, then before.

As for Ichigo’s final hollow form. Now that we have seen a fusion of both Zangetsu’s form and the pure hollow form we saw. He might look more like that rather than the full hollow form. Thou very powerfull, its power shattered easily when one of the horns was destroyed.

As for Gin. He is probably ‘revenge’ in the most most purest of forms. Too bad his get whipped also. But remember… No one in the Gotei 13 has died in the midst of battle, so gin probably won’t either. At least not with some tear-jerking last words.

  • By Kvistikor, August 5, 2010 @ 3:24 pm

“No one in the Gotei 13 has died in the midst of battle”

Actually, Head Captain Yamamoto died using Itto Katsu or whatever it’s called. Plus, even though she’s not part of the Gotei 13, Hiyori was slashed in half…No one knows what happened to Ukitake yet, either.

  • By quincy lord, August 5, 2010 @ 4:24 pm

first thank you Kubo!! 2 actual chapters of plot development

thanks SSJ I was wandering what Aizen had in his hands. so how does he already have the hougyoku and how come Urahara doesn’t know its missing.

  • By stargirl, August 5, 2010 @ 6:35 pm

@baycel thanks, that link was exactly what I was looking for.

  • By cesc, August 5, 2010 @ 8:23 pm

noooooooo! Gin can’t die, he just became my favorite character!!

I wonder if Aizen didn’t help him to become a hallow (like he did tosen) bcuz he feared Gin would be too powerful. Or if Aizen was really so confident that he allowed Gin to become a vizard even tho he Gin would try to kill him.

Basically, anyone think Gin has a hallow form??

  • By ssj, August 5, 2010 @ 9:00 pm

@ cesc – not a bad theory, but i don’t think so for a couple reasons:

-with most of the newfound information, it is becoming pretty apparent that Gin actually had a pretty good moral compass. so even though he seemed to be more evil than tosen, he probably chose not to be tainted with hollow powers.

-even with hollow powers, i think physically (considering Gin’s physical powers would be the thing most boosted by Hollow powers) aizen is too far above Gin now for it to matter.

@Kvistikor – we don’t know all those people died. but the one shinigami that was actually confirmed killed in battle is Kaien.

  • By cesc, August 5, 2010 @ 9:27 pm

@SSJ I mean before Aizen became invincible, do you think he would have hesitated then, or was he still so cocky. (I think he was, and have allowed Gin to get hallow powers despite knowing Gin’s true intents).

Though you do make a good point about Gin’s moral compass.

But then again, what do we really know about Gin?? We don’t really know what goes on in that head of his. I am still not entirely sure of his true motives.

PS I hate the fact that Aizen is such a know it all, is he ever going to be surprised? Whenever we think he’s been killed he gets up and says “jk, I knew that was going to happen :) ” asswhole lol

  • By bsk17, August 6, 2010 @ 7:26 am

ok so we all knew at the end of last chapter that aizen wasn’t gonna die. but what i noted was aizen’s eyes after he transformed. his eyes have been changing over the chapters. he looks plain evil now. earlier he looked like an evil genius. now he just seems evil. or maybe i’m imagining it. poor gin, one of my favorite characters. though he disappointed me in the end by turning on aizen. maybe aizen is just incapable of having any real layal followers. they all have more important things than aizen. and isn’t it time we saw how dead ichigo is right now??

  • By Kvistikor, August 6, 2010 @ 7:26 am

I wish someone would at least injure Aizen at this point. We all know Ichigo is going to fight Aizen at the end, he’s the main character. Gin could have at least inflicted a wound on Aizen, heck, he infected his heart with poison! Aizen’s brushed off every attack that’s hit him, I don’t care if he has regenerative hollow powers now. If Kubo is just going to throw all these people at Aizen, at least have some significance in the attack. We already understand how powerful Aizen is…

Also, @SSJ, though it isn’t conformed, I’m pretty sure Yamamoto is dead, since Itto Kaso was stated as a “sacrificial kido”, and it is forbidden, too.

  • By Rate1, August 6, 2010 @ 2:32 pm

I dont remember who it was that posted this But I agree with the whole Ichigo’s dad is working with Sosuke theory.

  • By mart2, August 6, 2010 @ 3:12 pm

“Aizen has evolved into…a…butterfly”: the butterfly is a theme throughout bleach, the hell butterflys, Soi Fon’s Tattoo, and of course the evolution aspect.

I don’t think that sphere was THE Hyougyouku, but Aizen’s experimental one which created the Hollowfication in “Turn back the Pendulum” since we’ve been wondering how he did that for a while now.

“Yamamoto is dead”: I always think that Orihime will revive everyone, but the “sacrifice” could be implied by that you can’t save yourself but someone else could help you.

Also wouldn’t Kaien resurect eventually as the 8th(?) espada?

  • By Pretend3r, August 6, 2010 @ 4:32 pm

@Kvistikor: Oh yeah.. him.. already forgot about him due to this little Aizen-thon we have going on.

@bsk17: I’m glad I’m not to only one who made a comment on his eyes…

  • By ssj, August 6, 2010 @ 9:49 pm

@mart – kaien wasn’t resurrected. it was Aaroniero Arruruerie, who was a gillian. aaroniero or ate the hollow from back in rukia’s memory that absorbed kaien. in turn, aaroniero gained the ability to impersonate anybody that hollow absorbed.

  • By lilmoe, August 7, 2010 @ 3:37 am

this is common reverse anthology used in Japanese manga… the demon is the good guy, and the angel is the bad guy… why do these people want to prove God wrong this much? poor unbelievers…..

anyway, nice chapter, nice analysis. and yes i believe that gin slightly represents itachi of naruto. i love itachi’s character, but itachi has far exceeded gin in sacrifice. still, nice ending for a mysterious character.

  • By lilmoe, August 7, 2010 @ 5:25 am

    sorry, i mean reverse methodology

  • By Siskin, August 7, 2010 @ 5:35 am

About the butterfly… I think Tite is borrowing from Catholic tradition where arch angels have 6 wings. This would make sense in the fact that Lucifer was an arch angel and Aizen fits that profile. I don’t think anyone will kill Aizen since now he is divine and death no longer applies to him.

  • By stargirl, August 7, 2010 @ 6:48 am

First off, happy Tanabata everybody! The theme is the butterfly because of the metamorphosis thing, but angels- I don’t know. @lilmoe, I appreciate your enthusiasm for the Christian denomination, but I still don’t think he’s an angel. Maybe that’s what Tite wanted us to think. I do believe however the whole divinity vs. demon. I mean one look at Ichigo’s full hollow and you think you’re off to Hell, and Aizen in his pure whites and wings is pretty angelic. Also, no one knows for sure if Yamamoto is dead, I think (and hope) he is. It’s about time for a new captain commander. Maybe Kenpachi, Byakuya?
You guys are right, Aizen’s eyes are alot more intense. I think he’s really mad at Gin. Also, we don’t know that Gin is good yet, just cause we know he’s a double crosser doesn’t mean he’s a double agent. He could just be being creepy Gin again.

  • By lilmoe, August 7, 2010 @ 8:42 am

    @stargirl…

i wasn’t enthusiastic about Christianity in particular… i just think people who think this world isn’t created and guided by God to be… i don’t know… just missing out.

whether it’s angel vs demon or good vs evil.. it doesn’t matter. the whole thing about wanting to fight God or thinking that God is unjust is pathetic and in most cases offensive. it’s like computers all of a sudden revolt against humans and say that humans didn’t create them just because their “sensors” can’t detect humans, loooool.

  • By stargirl, August 7, 2010 @ 11:51 am

@lilmoe, I didn’t mean it that way:(But actually I agree with exactly what you said. There has to be a great creator, I’m not prepared to believe in evolution. Evolution is like 100 blind men in the same room trying to solve a Rubix cube at the very same time.
I agree with the idea that the idea of killing a “God” or “Deicide” can be offensive, but at the same time if he can be killed than he’s not God right? I think Aizen is supposed to be all god like, and when he is finally shot down and his wings are clipped he will finally be realized as pathetic and ignorant as the humans he so loathes. The idea of him thinking so high of himself is starting to get irritating, and the whole “you just got Aizen’d” as hillarious as it is is becoming a clishe in the series. I honestly can’t wait for the story to go back to Ichigo.

  • By Pretend3r, August 7, 2010 @ 12:11 pm

If the rubicks cube is the world I think evolution is pretty accurate. The blind men will keep working on it. Eventually they will solve the cube, they just won’t know that they did and keep at it for all damn eternity. Maybe God is just a referee telling the guys how their doing.

I’m not sure it were the Christians or Catholics, but If God has a plan for everyone and everything? What use is free-will.. He will simply guide your free will to whatever he wants you to do. And making a shitload of babies in an overpopulated world isn’t a smart tactic either.

SF series are kind of fun in that regard. Did anyone here read the latest Gantz chapters? If ‘God’ exists he would simply a form of life more advanced to us. And (if you believe Gantz) were no more than a nice snack to mix in with the pasta.

  • By Mart1, August 7, 2010 @ 1:24 pm

“Evolution is like 100 blind men in the same room trying to solve a Rubix cube at the very same time.” I don’t get the analogy. Then again I’m a mythology loving atheist. I have to agree with pretender that the sheer amount of confliction within most mythologies makes me disbeleive them. I view life as do good because it benifits you, not do good because someone else tells you so.

  • By Karijow, August 7, 2010 @ 1:58 pm

Here’s what I think. I DONT think Gin is a hero, or that he has ANY form of a moral compass. He’s done too many bad things to be considered good. And a lot of those things weren’t necessary. Gin is as evil and as twisted as they come, more so than even Aizen. I feel indifferent to his situation. I wouldnt be angry if he died, and I wouldnt be angry if he doesn’t. Here’s just a little list of all the crap Gin’s pulled (and in all but one of them Aizen wasn’t even around)
    http://www.citymanga.com/bleach/chapter-145/06/
    http://www.citymanga.com/bleach/chapter-145/12/
    http://www.citymanga.com/bleach/chapter-264/02/
    http://www.citymanga.com/bleach/chapter-250/15/
    http://manga.bleachexile.com/bleach-chapter-320-page-20.html
    http://www.citymanga.com/bleach/chapter-132/12/

And I don’t know if anyone’s already said this, but I’m gonna theorize that the thing Aizen has in the flashback is his attempt at an Hogyouku. That would explain how he hollowfied the Vizards and explain how he knows so much about the Hogyouku.

  • By baycel, August 7, 2010 @ 8:36 pm

@ cesc PS I hate the fact that Aizen is such a know it all, is he ever going to be surprised? Whenever we think he’s been killed he gets up and says “jk, I knew that was going to happen ” asswhole lol ” i frikin swear me and my friends always bring this subject up lmao

  • By stargirl, August 7, 2010 @ 10:22 pm

I’m sorry for my earlier comment. If it offended or angered anyone then I apologize. It wasn’t my intension, and I should remember that I’m posting this on somebody elses sight. Being a hasty person isn’t the image or name I want for myself. And thank you ssj and the others for creating this sight. It’s nice to have a place to talk about about stuff like Bleach:) Once more, I am sorry for the offensive comments I’ve made.

  • By Mart1, August 8, 2010 @ 7:23 am

I wasn’t offended stargirl just confused by the analogy. Since bleached is so small we tend to only get offended at the big stuff. The angle stuff was chapter related so we can forgive any religious references since tite is clearly making them on some level.

  • By stargirl, August 8, 2010 @ 3:32 pm

@Mart1 I’m a big fan of both Mythology and Theology. I do want to make it clear that I respect any and every opinion posted. I just get excited when I see some signs of mythology or theology in the talk:) lol. I especially love Japanese mythology. It’s one of the reasons I love Bleach so much.

  • By lilmoe, August 8, 2010 @ 5:21 pm

    @stargirl

yea… but the thing is, they think god is something like that… they don’t have a feel for the difference between a creator and a created.

anyway, i think samurai X’s idea of strength and being insensible was a bit more “polite” in a sense. heiko seijiro the 13th (kenshen’s master) always reminded kenshen that he’s not a god, and no one expects him to be. so no matter how strong he gets, there will be at some point and END.

we all know that ichigo will win in the end. it’s just a matter of time and events. but i really hate the way this writer is trying to imply that ichigo is going to kill a god… dude, just get on with the story and make it more interesting, we get the idea that u hate God this much.

  • By lilmoe, August 8, 2010 @ 6:02 pm

    @others…

just like stargirl said, i don’t want to be offensive to others. it’s all about respect. that’s why i got pissed off on the author of bleach from the first place. i don’t want to go on with this subject too long, it’s neither my blog nor has anything to do with the events of the series. but in a sense i just want to make a point. don’t get me wrong, i love reading bleach, and i really love the story. but there are things i want to comment about where others never did before, not in bleach or any other manga with the same theological “views”. and i promise i wont post about it again.

people always doubt God when “bad” things happen. but what makes u so sure u “know” what’s really happening? the human perspective of good and evil is solely and primarily derived from “knowing” the opposite… if u don’t know hate, u wont know love, and if u don’t know sadness u wont know what’s happiness, and if u don’t know what being still is you wont know what’s motion, but are we really standing still when we think we are? ;) God views from a different perspective, and if we think things are “Bad” it doesn’t necessarily mean they are.

japense authors do a good job in understanding the second part. naruto’s author is a good example of explaining to the world why love breads hate, and happiness breads sadness. but they are so terrible in relating it with the rational balance and unity of God. i’m not talking about 1 religion’s view of God, i’m talking about the Supreme Almighty God that all religions believe in, but warship in a different way.

i can go on and on about God, but there’re 2 more things i’d like to elaborate on; free will and evolution.

people tend to misunderstand free will, and what it has to do with God. we ARE a creation, that is a FACT. people only tend to differ in they’re opinions of WHO made the creation. it’s definitely not by chance. and whoever believes in evolution and other “theories” let me tell u this. Evolution IS a theory of “someone” who just thought of “something”. it’s not a proven fact. scientific understanding is built upon principles, and if those principles are not defined and well set out, then it’s not scientific. you have to “observe”, “think”, make “explanations”, then “demonstrate”. we never “observed” evolution, we just thought about it and tried to explain something we can never “demonstrate”. BUT, however, we CAN see the things God created, and we know deep inside that all of his creation is NOT by chance. just because someone “found” a fossil of what seems to be a prototype of “man” doesn’t mean it’s a correct observation. it might be (and most likely is) a instinct ape that doesn’t exist in today’s world, just like other instinct creatures. now, to relate this back to free will. let me demonstrate what i think free will is:

if someone throws a trajectory, lots of people can calculate where it will land with a high amount of precision. if a programmer designs a program or a system, he can tell u exactly what’s gonna happen if u issue a command to it. your parents will tell u exactly what will happen if u steal (in most cases). God, on the other hand, KNOWS where his “trajectory” will hit. his “trajectory” however, isn’t exactly the same as we know it, it happens to have a will of its own, and only He knows how it was created. he watches you from “above” and knows what u’ll do, not because he made u do that, but because (in a sense) he knows the “calculation”. He guides you and tells what’s good and what’s bad, and lets YOU decide what to do. and Him knowing what you’ll do doesn’t mean He made u do it. He just knows… you WERE created by him in the first place.

and like i said before, just because you can’t see Him or touch Him, doesn’t mean He doesn’t exist. if a computer cannot detect a “heat” source, doesn’t mean there’s nothing there. I’m sorry if he didn’t give us the power to feel his presence, but He did give us the signs.

anyway, it’s also part of free will that everyone has his/her own opinion about this, i wont try to snatch away what God gave.

  • By stargirl, August 9, 2010 @ 9:59 am

Alright, I have a new theory. It doesn’t have much to do with this chapter though. There are 4 houses, right? The Shihouin house- successor, Yoruichi Shihouin. Kuchiki house- successor Byakuya Kuchiki. Shiba clan(house)- successor, Kukkaku Shiba. The fourth house is never mentioned in the series. I believe that the fourth house is the Kurasaki family. I think this fourth house is never mentioned because they are the royal family. Making either Isshin Kurosaki or Ichigo Kurosaki the successor of the house; the successor would be the Soul King. I don’t believe in coincidence and obviosly neither does Aizen. Which makes me believe Ichigo is the next successor. Why else would Aizen have gone after Ichigo (besides the fact that we all know he loves Gingers). It would fit into the gap in the story resulting from Isshin’s backround. Why couldn’t it happen?

I’m getting rid of my old theory that the Soul King is dead. It could be that this successor to the Kurosaki house is not the Soul King. Yamamoto said that the Soul King is a supreme entity. Omnipresent. Omnipotent. Omnipowerful. So maybe the Soul King really is God. I’m not talking about the living percepsion of god, like in Azien’s views, but somthing truly omnipotent. And maybe the Kurosaki house would take on some different role. Not like inheritence to the throne but maybe more biblicly inclined. Like the line of David, or Jacob. I wonder, who was the original Shinigami? Truly The Shinigami aren’t the gods of death that Rukia-chan made them out to be.
It just proves that its a totally different percepsion, a different demension. It’s like the book Chariets Of The Gods. Since we already know Soul Society is in a different demension and the royal palace a different demension even then it also fits. Btw that’s why Shinigami can stand in mid-air the way they do in the world of the living, because they operate in another dimension. I don’t know, this is just my theory. Maybe that’s not what it is at all.

  • By stargirl, August 9, 2010 @ 10:36 am

Can somebody put out a link for chapter 416 spoilers and pictures please:)

  • By lilmoe, August 9, 2010 @ 11:30 am

i’ve had that theory in mind for a while.. u just got a supporter.

here’s some of the things that made me think of that in the first place:
ichigo’s hollow always calls ichigo, Ou (King)… i wonder why he does that all the time. it’s true that ichigo is the king of his inner world, but don’t the other soul slayers call there shinigami “master” rather than “king”? why does ichigo’s hollow always use the word “king”…?

  • By stargirl, August 9, 2010 @ 1:01 pm

@lilmoe, that’s one of the reasons I had for this theory. Why King? Why not master? He used to call him partner, but then King out of no where. It seems though that Zangetsu knows alot of things that Ichigo doesn’t. Probably as much as Isshin. It might have something to do with the names of their Zanpakuto- Engetsu(fate moon) Zangetsu(cutting moon). It might be a family thing, which it probably is, but still interesting. Haha, Ou-sama and Kami-sama are kinda similar titles.

  • By Kvistikor, August 9, 2010 @ 2:05 pm

I think Aizen’s metamorphosis started and is going to end something like this…

Aizen killed and killed and killed and absorbed the Hogyoku to become bigger and badder. Then he got inside his shell (crysalis), where no attack coulds harm him (including Urahara’s big reishi explosion), then as he emerged, his wings were “wet” and not usable yet. Now his wings are spread and he’s ready to fly. But most butterfly’s life spans are a week or 2…So Aizen’s life is coming to a close one way or another.

@stargirl, I’m another supporter of your theory.

  • By ssj, August 9, 2010 @ 2:52 pm

@Kisu – actually, i don’t think those links make him evil at all.

-about tricking rukia, there is nothing wrong with gin playing his part well. he knew what had to be done, and he knew what was going to happen later on, so whether or not he was really messing with her does not make him evil. he had to full everyone, he even fooled aizen, so making rukia fear him was to be expected.

-about the wonderweiss thing, wonderweiss may have been a pure being, but that is not to say he was good. his soul purpose was to extinguish soul societie’s greatest power – yamamoto, so it would be expected of gin, who knew this, to not like keeping him around.

-about manipulating the corridors, think about what would have happened if he didn’t. he may have played it off like he was being sneaky and evil, but everything actually worked out. what do you think would have happened if ichigo faced off against starkk at first, or if rukia fought baraggan? we don’t know where there original paths led, but we do know that they all survived because of the way they went, even if just barely. i believe gin is a brilliant enough tactician to foresee things like that. and if kenpachi, byuakuya, and mayuri all entered hueco mundo, gin prbly saw that from the monitors too, but didn’t bring it to anyone’s attention.

    - as for the scene where he killed the former 3rd seat when he was young – i addressed that in the post. it is very possible that that third seat was one of the henchman we saw with aizen from gin’s memory. but even if it wasn’t, it was a necessary step for the greater good.

    - the scene where matsumoto stops his blade: i doubt gin would have actually killed momo. especially since she was part of aizen’s plan. he could have stopped his blade at any time, he was just toying with hitsugaya to play his “role.” plus i doubt matsumoto could really stop gin’s blade if he was really serious.

if you look back, besides for the third seat, which i explained above, gin has never been seen doing anything truly evil like killing people, or even needlessly attacking other shinigami, like aizen. he even sat out of the whole fight against the captains in fake kurakara town. of course he pretended to be evil and creepy, that was the part he had to play, but look how differently he acts right after he puts the move on aizen and can finally put that facade.

btw good theory stargirl and lilmoe

  • By Karijow, August 9, 2010 @ 3:18 pm

“Btw that’s why Shinigami can stand in mid-air the way they do in the world of the living, because they operate in another dimension.”

That’s actually due to one of the 4 Shinigami fighting styles, Hoho (movement techniques). So walking on air has to be learned like the other four (Zanjutsu, Kido and Hand-to-Hand)

@lilmoe, lol. Well I dont want to get into a debate about religion vs evolution, but we have observed evolution. Through selective breeding we’ve seen how organisms can change to adapt. I’m a religion-loving atheist…but I dont like religions for the same reasons many of my kind do, my reasons for liking them are entirely different…..

  • By Karijow, August 9, 2010 @ 3:43 pm

@ssj, notice I didn’t post Gin bifurcating Hiyori? There was a reason for that. Aizen was there, he had to do it. However, there was absolutely NO NEED for him to toy with Rukia’s mind like he did. She never trusted him to begin with and Aizen was NOT there. He did it for the fun.

Wonderweiss is a retard. But that link was about what Kaname said. Gin cant be trusted. And at the time he was playing his part perfectly, so Kaname didn’t know he wanted to kill Aizen, but he read him and decided Gin shouldn’t be trusted. Someone like Kaname reads a person’s nature and Gin is a snake.

Lets see….he made Rukia go up against the one being that could become Kaien, and that resulted in her mentally torture by Aaroniero. He made Renji go up against the one Espada that had extensive data on him and his abilities. He sent Uryu against a similarly analytical fighter and sent Ichigo against the (supposed) strongest of the Privaron Espada. All in all, Gin did that for entertainment. Had they gone up against the top Espada they would have been massacred in seconds, not very entertaining.

The former Third Seat…ok so when someone hurts someone you care about (no evidence that it was the 3rd seat that did, we’re just assuming it was him), you go out and brutally murder them then don’t own up to ur crime? No one even knows he did it! lol

U doubt Gin would have killed Momo? Ok lets see, Hitsuguya had him on the ropes and then he said he’s going to kill her…yeah, sure he wasn’t. There’s nothing to even imply that he wouldn’t have killed her. Didn’t you see the evil glare he gave Hitsuguya before using Shinsou? He has no inhibitions about killing the innocent.

Like I said before, Gin is more twisted than Aizen. Aizen is the clichéd bad guy that wants to rule the world…Gin is a sadistic maniac that revels in other people’s pain :)

  • By Karijow, August 9, 2010 @ 3:45 pm

On second thought, Gin isn’t evil…he’s just a ‘snake’

  • By lilmoe, August 9, 2010 @ 4:36 pm

    snakes are evil right?

  • By stargirl, August 9, 2010 @ 7:00 pm

This is out of the blue, but… what happened to Nel?:(

Also I don’t think Gin can be good. He might be out for revenge on Aizen, but that doesn’t make him a good guy. He’s manipulative, and well… a snake. That’s that. Plus, no matter the intensions it makes no difference to Soul Society. I agree with Karijow, his death or survival wouldn’t make a difference to me.

  • By Karijow, August 10, 2010 @ 12:49 am

@stargirl, what happened to Nel you ask? The same thing that happened to Grimmjow.

  • By ssj, August 10, 2010 @ 1:36 am

i was thinking the same thing about hiyori. when aizen around i don’t apply the same rules of manga as i normally would. and tosen’s judgement proved to be just as blind as his eyes.

as for the other cases, we obviously view them in two different ways. i’ve known you long enough to know you probably won’t change your mind unless it is stated in the manga, and the same goes for me. so until then, agree to disagree.

btw – we actually broke 50 comments on BI!!! hurray!

  • By stargirl, August 10, 2010 @ 6:32 am

@karijow I thought Orihime was supposed to heal her? I guess this is Tite’s way of getting rid of the Heuco Muendo lackees.

  • By stargirl, August 10, 2010 @ 9:32 am

Hey, did you guys know that “tite” is actually one of the Japanese words for “hollow”. How clever of Mr. Noriaki Kubo to create such a pen name.

  • By Karijow, August 10, 2010 @ 9:59 am

@stargirl, that’s awesome lol. Very nice little tidbit there

  • By Karijow, August 10, 2010 @ 10:01 am

@stargirl, are you sure its “tite”? I did a check just now and it says “Kubo” is another word for hollow.

  • By stargirl, August 10, 2010 @ 11:51 am

@karijow I totally messed up! lol I’m sorry, blonde moment. I’ve been lacking clarity of mind lately, lol. Baugh. Anyways, I’ve known for awhile I just never mentioned. I guess I just got mixed up, but ya that’s it. It’s kubo, kubomi, anaboko, boko, utsuro, kuudou, and ousho. They all mean the same thing. Hollow.

  • By Pretend3r, August 10, 2010 @ 12:51 pm

At most other comments about Gin…

Evil is a point of view.

If you are in a room as party nr. 1. having a discussion with group nr. 2. Both aimed at a judge. Group nr.2 is claiming you’re insane. You claim you’re not.

What is the judge going to say?

  • By stargirl, August 10, 2010 @ 2:28 pm

Well it’s random week. If I’m correct then the silver chain around Rangiku’s neck is a Loveknot. I’ve been speculating this and now I’m pretty sure. If it is a Loveknot then it speaks alot more about Gin and Rangiku’s mysterious past. Any thoughts?

  • By ssj, August 10, 2010 @ 7:21 pm

btw to any of you who don’t know, all shonen manga including bleach are on hold for one week.

  • By stargirl, August 11, 2010 @ 12:11 pm

@karijow that’s awesome, It’s a great discovery. Look at cute little Lt. Byakuya behind grandpappy Kuchiki:) Who are Unohana, Love, and Rose’s Luietenents? And who’s the big dude with the wicked beard next to Ukitake? One more question, aren’t there 13 quartguard squads, I only count 12… so many mysteries…

  • By Karijow, August 11, 2010 @ 1:22 pm

@Stargirl, you think that’s Byakuya dont you? Its actually his dad (which makes the Koga filler useless now lol), Sojun Kuchiki.

    2. Unohana’s Lieutenant is actually Hanataro’s older brother, Seinosuke Yamada.

    3. Love’s Lieutenant is Sentaro Kotsubaki’s (the guy who’s always fighting with Isane’s little sister over who Ukitake likes more) dad. His name is Jin’emon Kotsubaki

    4. Roses Lieutenant is Tetsuzaemon Iba’s mother. The one he says forced him to become a Lieutenant. Her name is Chikane Iba.

    5. Yoruichi’s Lieutenant isnt Marechiyo Omaeda, its actually his dad (he made his first appearance in an anime omake), Marenoshin Omaeda.

    5. The big dark guy at the bottom is the 10th Kenpachi. He was killed by Zaraki with only one slash, if memory serves. His name is Kenpachi Kigano (his real name is Gosuke Kigano).

  • By Karijow, August 11, 2010 @ 1:28 pm

@Stargirl, the missing squad is 10. Remember the Squad 10 Captain died over 100 years ago

  • By stargirl, August 11, 2010 @ 1:53 pm

@karijow, wow you know your Bleach. I mean, I know Bleach (like any faithful reader should) but mann you really know Bleach! I knew that Byakuya looked too happy.

  • By mart2, August 11, 2010 @ 3:34 pm

“NO NEED for him to toy with Rukia’s mind”: Yes there was actually, this gave her hope, which lead to her TRYING to escape Aizen’s plan, which made it obvious what his plot was instead of letting him escape without alerting the court guards.

  • By quincy lord, August 11, 2010 @ 7:20 pm

@karijow where is this picture from & I don’t remember the filler actually saying that guy was Bayikyus dad. I believe it was implied he had a relationship with his mother

  • By Karijow, August 11, 2010 @ 8:47 pm

    @mart, that’s far-fetched lol

@quincy lord, its from the new Bleach databook. It came out August 4th

@stargirl, I cant take all the credit…or any of it lol. I only knoiw about this cuz I frequent bleach wiki

  • By Karijow, August 12, 2010 @ 1:58 am

for everything on the book, including kubo interviews, check this out (just something to do until the next chapter comes out):

    http://forum.mangastream.com/showthread.php?t=5781

Apparently there’s gonna be another arc, but with a new lead that’s older than Ichigo…I’ll believe it when i see it Tite

  • By Karijow, August 12, 2010 @ 2:17 am

Apparently Espada’s 1-4 were Vasto Lordes (well i guessed 1-3 were at least). AND the Espada’s are ranked according to Reiatsu. That explains why Baraggan was such a better fighter than Starrk. That officially means Grimmjow CAN beat Ulq :D

  • By Karijow, August 12, 2010 @ 7:31 am

I found something pretty hilarious. Apparently, Gene Simmons’ son, Nick Simmons, has been plagiarizing Bleach with his comic, blatantly. Here are instances of such plagiarism

    http://community.livejournal.com/bleachness/446299.html

Kubo’s response was (I’m paraphrasing) “I’m more concerned that Gene Simmons’ son draws comics than I am of anyone plagiarizing my work”

  • By stargirl, August 12, 2010 @ 3:03 pm

@Karijow wow. Just… wow. This is the first time I’ve heard about this. I’ll admit it looks alot like tracing. I knew that Nick Simmons was a fan Bleach fan. Ironically I’m a big fan of the show Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels, my family is a KISS kinda family. Even more ironically, In the brand new episode of Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels Nick went to Comicon to sign Incarnate comics. During the whole episode I was keeping an eye open for the Bleach stand, lol. I do hope however that this whole ordeal doesn’t sully Tite Kubo’s image of America. Also that link you put up about the next series, and the next next series, that was awesome. Can’t wait for more info to be released. If you find out anymore be sure to post.

  • By stargirl, August 12, 2010 @ 3:25 pm

@Karijow what you said about Grimmjow being able to beat Ulquiorra. I beg to differ. Ichigo defeated Grimmjow, which makes Ichigo stronger than him. I don’t feel like posting a link, but do you remember in The Antagonizer (or some chapter around that) when Ichigo pulled out his hollowfication? Ulquiorra’s sword started to break after one strike from hollowfied Ichigo. But then in The Lust when Ulquiorra used his Resureccion Ichigo couldn’t touch him. And when Ulquiorra pulled that second Resureccion >resureccion segunda etapa< out of his butt, well surely then Grimmjow stands absolutely no match.

  • By Karijow, August 12, 2010 @ 4:47 pm

@stargirl, yeah, in terms of Reiatsu, Ulquiorra is miles ahead of Grimmjow. But Grimmjuow has proven that he’s a better fighter by far. All Ulquiorra does his fire Ceros and spam the benefits of his Hierro. Besides, we did get a little tussle between the two and for being only the sexta Espada, Grimmjow held his own and was even happy to be putting Ulq in his place :D . But then again, this is all just a matter of opinion really.

@Nick and Gene Simmons topic, its funny how Nick didn’t even ATTEMPT to cover it up. I think he just wanted to see f anyone would catch on. He’s lucky that Kubo isn’t in need of cash right now or he’d get his ass sued.

  • By Karijow, August 12, 2010 @ 4:49 pm

“Ichigo defeated Grimmjow, which makes Ichigo stronger than him.”

This is Bleach. This manga is built on inconsistent power levels lol. Ichigo beat Kenpachi and Byakuya, but now he cant even begin to compare with either of them. Though these inconsistencies only show up when Ichigo’s involved.

  • By stargirl, August 12, 2010 @ 5:54 pm

@Karijow actually I’m starting to let in on that. I totally forgot about when Grimmjow pwned Ulquiorra with his little box thingy that sent him to another demension. If the battle was over combat style, it would actually be a really close call. And it does make sense now with the order of the Espada, because Nnoitora’s hierro was wayy tougher than Ulquiorra’s. Btw when I said that Ichigo defeating Grimmjow made him stronger than Grimmjow, I was originally gonna put “Ichigo defeating Grimmjow ‘kind of’ makes him stronger than Grimmjow”. Lol I deeply considered the history of inconsistency in the series, and found myself feeling really sorry for Ichigo. So I through him a bone. lol.

Also, I did my research, which took me all the way back to chapter 173, and found that you were correct in the matter. The four tecniques- Zan-jutsu, hand-to-hand, Hohou, and Hadou. It is because of the tecnique called hohou that they can stand on air. But perhaps the demensional boundaries I spoke about are the principals of Hohou. I do believe we shall never know. Oh well.

  • By Karijow, August 12, 2010 @ 7:16 pm

@stargirl, lol most of my observations are only my biased opinions being proven right (extreme luck). And I only remember all this stuff because i started reading and watching Bleach last year.

  • By stargirl, August 12, 2010 @ 9:11 pm

@Karijow me too! I accidently discovered it a little less than a year ago while patrolling the channels on my tv one late Saturday night. Fifteen minutes into it and I was hooked. I made it my mission to watch every episode online *triumphant pose, fist to the air upward gaze* Half way through the series I started reading the manga. I am very prone to irony in the way that it was the only anime that I refused to watch (for absolutely no reason) on this channel. Now I’m here posting my opinions and thoughts on a fan blog. Exciting, huh? lol

  • By Karijow, August 12, 2010 @ 9:55 pm

@stargirl, well when I first saw Bleach it was on adultswim. So I thought it was a comedy like everything else on AS, I was disappointed so I stopped watching it. Plus the whole new Hollow every week thing just wasn’t doing t for me. What got me into Bleach was the Bount Arc (too bad I found out it was filler later). After watching it, I went back through the old eps, and that is as they say history.

  • By stargirl, August 13, 2010 @ 9:05 am

@Karijow ya I found Bleach on AS too. The first episode I ever watched was when they were in the menos forest, before they met Ashido. I only watched it for 5 minutes, but still. I was dissapointed to found out when I got halfway through the manga that Ashido and the menos forest was a filler arc:( Like a month after I watched that episode I decided to try it out again and watch another. It was the episode that Ulquiorra killed Ichigo (for the first time). That is when it became interesting.

  • By Karijow, August 13, 2010 @ 9:39 am

@stargirl, Ashido and the MEnos forest was supposed to be in the manga actually. But Kubo had to cut them out because of time constraints, so I guess it can be considered canon-ish

  • By stargirl, August 13, 2010 @ 12:32 pm

@Karijow yes I found out when reading the manga. I read the notes about it in the manga, and it did say how he was dissapointed that he couldn’t use Ashido because of time constraints. At least he got to use them in the anime.

  • By stargirl, August 13, 2010 @ 12:46 pm

The more I think about Tite’s next story the more sad I feel about it. I’m kind of sad because the main character won’t be Ichigo. It’ll be strange, I mean the entire series has been a climatic rise for Ichigo. I know that after this whole Aizen thing is over then there will be no reason for Ichigo. It’ll be time for a new character. But it’s still sad:( We’ve gotten to know these characters good, It’ll be like the ending of a good book. Sad but kinda happy… I’ll miss you Rukia-chan!!

  • By Karijow, August 13, 2010 @ 8:45 pm

I think Ashido would make an excellent addition to the manga. Someone living just by fighting all those years surely has mastered Bankai. Plus he was killing Adjuchas-level Menos without even releasing his zanpakuto. Could Kubo be saving him as a Captain replacement? Dunno, its just a thought.

@Stargirl, I’m actually pretty tired of Ichigo. He loses his resolve every 10 chapters or so, gets his ass handed to him, trains and then goes to rescue some damsel in distress. People say Aizen is ruining Bleach, but I disagree, its Ichigo. As long as he’s the main character Bleach will always follow this monotonous formula:

Training Arc (Urahara training)—>Rescue Arc (Soul Society Arc)—>Training Arc (Vizard training)—>Rescue Arc (Hueco Mundo Arc)—>Training Arc (Isshin training)—>Rescue Arc (Deicide Arc, he has to rescue his friends)

A new protagonist can really spice up this story :)

  • By quincy lord, August 13, 2010 @ 9:57 pm

@karijow is ichigo being permanently replaced or is this temporary for a story arc. and is their any info on who the new protagonist is as well as enemies. and what’s going to happen to ichigo & friends?

  • By ssj, August 13, 2010 @ 10:19 pm

wow good find on the databook kisu. let me know if you find more

  • By stargirl, August 13, 2010 @ 10:24 pm

@Karijow I agree. Ichigo is out of good use. A new cast of characters will be a breath of fresh air. I am looking forward to getting to know alot of the captain’s backrounds though. I do see, however, Renji, Rukia, Sado, Ishida, Orihime, and Ichigo being small benefactors in this story. I think that this story now will be the supporting foundation for the upcoming one. It should be interesting. All in all, this will be something to look forward to. Perhaps this story will be more consistent, and with a little less cliche in it… but hey this is Bleach! Besides, who doesn’t enjoy a good cliche every now and then:)

  • By Karijow, August 13, 2010 @ 10:34 pm

@ssj, YOU BROKE MY COVER >_<

@stargirl, maybe Kubo will also improve. Right now the pace is too slow (he spends too much time drawing useless stuff), and he needs to remember to draw backgrounds (compare to One Piece where the panels are literally cluttered with people and things). I dare you to read any given chapter of One Piece and time yourself, then read any given chapter of Bleach while timing yourself. Compare the times, One Piece will always win. Yeah, if he improves on those little negatives, then he'd have a lot more plagiarizers :)

Btw, I hear Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures are planning a LIVE ACTION BLEACH MOVIE. I pray to God they don't. Dragonball Evolution and the Last Airbender gave their original animated series head shots.

    @ bleach live action movie.
Okay, if this gets the same treatment as that Dragonball movie did, my soul will weep. Hey, I have an idea, why doesn’t WB just shell out the money but let a Japanese studio handle everything else. Hollywood tends to bastardizes the source material for almost everything anyways at some point.

  • By Karijow, August 17, 2010 @ 10:51 pm

It’s now been officially confirmed, Harribel was a Vasto Lorde. I recommend this week’s anime episode (Bleach 184). This episode really made me respect Harribel as a character, she got so much development.

  • By quincy lord, August 18, 2010 @ 4:11 pm

New chapter is out people. It’s interesting.

  • By quincy lord, August 18, 2010 @ 4:39 pm

wow Kisu I mean Karijow, first this weeks episode is 284. And are we actually taking the anime as confirmation that Harribel was a vasto lorde?

  • By Karijow, August 18, 2010 @ 5:59 pm

@Quincy lord, lol, my mistake 284. And according to the new databook, Espadas 1-4 were Vastos. The anime just confirmed all that. I hope this kills the whole “Vastos are invincible” stuff I’ve been hearing from most of the fandom :D

  • By stargirl, August 18, 2010 @ 9:48 pm

Why does everyone make fun of Ichigo’s hair? Ya it’s bright and outrageous, but Renji’s hair is way more outrageous! Grrr… those jerks. Why can’t they pick on Renji the red-haired Shinigami instead of hatin’ on the Gingers! (even though gingers don’t have souls) Tthey need to respect them. Just like Aizen… well maybe not sooo much like Aizen, lol. I have a deep respect for all the gingers of the world. I’m sorry for all the torment you must go through, lol.
