Bleach Chapter 417 – Deicide 19
Chapter 417 was not the longest chapter, nor did it have the most content, but it might have been the most pleasing chapter (to me personally) in a while. After all the suspense left at the end of the last chapter, this one only leaves us with more.
Tite didn’t switch the scene back to Hueco Mundo, or to the injured captains in Fake Kurakara town as some of you feared, not yet anyways. It started with Ichigo giving Aizen the death stare, something he lacked in his previous encounter. Whatever happened in Ichigo’s inner world over those 2-3 months has transcended him to a level higher and quicker than any imagined.
Just to confirm it, you guys were right about the chain being and extension to the hilt of Tensa Zangetsu. It’s hundreds of times longer than the two or so links it once was. I’m just not certain yet, what that chain’s length entails. It seems I was right about Ichigo being taller in addition to his hair growing, and Tatsuki notices this too. Now his hair is in an almost identical style (perhaps a little longer) to Kaien Shiba, and is probably now around the same height. Rukia will cream her pants next time she sees him. Also, I’d just like to take a moment to thank Tite for doing what Naruto’s author hasn’t. Many people have hoped Naruto’s hair would grow out a little, maybe like his fathers, to give his appearance a badass look to go with his new moves. Well at least Ichigo pulled it off.
Ichigo’s reiatsu sensing abilities have been fine tuned as well, as he is instantly able to find his sisters to confirm their well being. What is funny though, is that right after that, Kiego, and then even Aizen point out that they can literally sense no power, no reiatsu, and no threat coming from Ichigo at all, just a deadly stare. But one person is able to pick up on what nobody else can…
It turns out there is still a hint of life left within Gin Ichimaru. He notes the difference in confidence within Ichigo’s eyes from before to now. He really did want to save the world, but is happy to know he can leave it in Kurosaki’s hands. Unfortunately, I think knowing that was all he needed before he felt he could pass on, and might have died in the panel after that. Let’s hope not though.
As Aizen is preaching his condescending bullshit yet again, Ichigo interjects with the suggestion that they change locations. He obviously doesn’t want to damage his real town, but Aizen refuses to listen to such an inferior being. Well too bad biotch it ain’t up for discussion. Ichigo manages to bitch slap and simultaneously launch them both to his desired location in one instant. Afterwards, Aizen is astonished to realize that this was done with brute strength alone. Quite impressive considering normal humans and objects disintegrate near him, and captain level fighters fall apart at his touch.
This is it kids, the showdown begins next chapter, as Ichigo plans to “end this in a single instant.” I’ll see you then.

obviously that isn’t going to happen. this will, or should be the longest fight we have ever seen on bleach. unless ichigo learned some new technique to manipulate time so that the fight does last many chapters, but in actual time it happens in an instant to everyone else o_O

back to religion stuff, sorry. tite is going beyond what i thought as offensive.
it’s true Nazism isn’t the most popular movement around nowadays. but at some point in time it WAS what we would call now an extremest religious regime that “supposedly” wasn’t evil (according to Nazis), but the true “implementation” of the christian faith. smart way to portray what religions will lead to eventually.
the good guy’s a demon, vs, the bad guy’s an angel crap is really getting on my nerves.
nonetheless, i think ichigo now is FULLY and MASTERFULLY in control of all his powers. to suppress and control his reiatsu to the point of someone in aizen’s caliber isn’t capable of feeling it is just amazing.
he looks so skinny now and, yes guys u were right, taller.
his sword is now a nazi, well done. but looking strong.
somehow, kubo thinks that the strongest guys are the THINNEST and SKINNIEST. is tite really skinny by the way?

i believe the nazi comment had something to do with the swastika shape of ichigo’s hilt guard here on page 2, but don’t forget lilmoe that the same shape was first used in more ancient forms like in buddhism, hinduism, and other traditions, commonly symbolizing eternal harmony and peace within oneself. i have a feeling Tite, coming from that region of the world, intended something more like that for his hero when choosing that shape.

@lilmoe, when I said stronger, I meant he could destroy Bankai Ichigo.
And the swastika isn’t just a Nazi symbol. Its just that the Nazi attached a negative stigma to it. Swastikas were used in many religions before Hitler showed up. Besides, Ichigo’s crossguard is in the shape of a manji which means full (as in full release)

This was a fabulous chapter. Can’t wait till next week, obviosly. The Swastika and the Manji are in opposite directions, by the way. Yes the Manji symbolizes fullness, absoluteness of the spirit and body. The Swastika, however, was purposefully turned backwards to represent consumation, hunger for power, and peace through absolute war. It’s nice to think that Ichigo-san, even though he’s a fake character, might have peace in his soul… finally. His sword looks weird. It’s weird, but awesome. That would be cool if it was permanent. Ichigo totally pulled an Ulquiorra with whole B slap bizz. Anyone remember that? It was in The Antagonizer… er…. something like that. This is just as I predicted, he’s taking after Ulquiorra.
On a seperate note, is Isshin dead? Hmmm, I don’t think so, but anything’s possible.

Actually his hilt is not in the shape of a swastika… if you look at it closely a swastika looks like this 卍, but ichago’s hilt looks more like a squared shaped windmill, and yes its a simply of Buddhism not Nazism…
Also, there are alot of manga authors that have used this simple, for example, in naruto neji curse seal was in that shape.
i was also right about ichagos hilt being longer, yayayya…but whats up with the glove?

Thanks guys now that I’ve taken a closer look at the hilt it does almost look like a swastika. But as everybody has already stated I’m sure it has nothing to do with Nazis. Because that would be the end of Bleach & Kubo’s career. When
the english anime dubs get to this, I’m sure
they’ll modify the hilt the same way the changed
Neiji’s curse mark in Naruto.
lilmoe you shouldn’t take this storyline as an attack on Christianity. You have to consider the author’s culuture and where he was raised and now lives.

I was really pleased how Ichigo’s soul has grown up if you will. Even Ishinn’s beard has grown during that time aswell.
@Quincy lord, and others. The hilt has always looked like a reverse swastika. Except no this big. if you will.
This chapter really leaves you wanting more… damnit.

Doesn’t the whole not being able to sense Ichigo’s power go back to when Urahara, Yourichi and Isshin were fighting Aizen and said that his power is so ridoonkulous that they couldnt sense ANYTHING? It was then revealed that only someone within his league of strength could sense his reiatsu (where Isshin raised his eyebrows when Ichigo says “How can you expect to defeat someone of THAT power level?!”)
So this means, lol because this is really gonna eat at lilmo and Karijow, this means that Ichigo is now that much stronger than Aizen!!! The power scales have been tipped upside down AND I LOVE IT! And he hasnt even put his mask on yet…tasty.
Gin didnt sense anything, he just looked in his eyes and saw his resolve was re-established.

well, i guess i mistook that symbol for something else, but nonetheless my image of tite hasn’t changed.
bleach is a different case though. me likes. this chapter was one of the best. and ichigo is once again that baddass the comes to save shit. but it’s kinda different from the time he came to face all the captains in soul society back in rukia’s arc; he’s not as cocky and egoistic. meaning, he doesn’t just think he can destroy everything and no one can stand in his way.
this time, he’s a bit more “humble” if u ask me. i don’t know, i just get the feeling he is. i like the way the confidence in his eyes was expressed. but at the same time, he’s not the type of cocky “challenger” anymore… he has a job to do, and he’s going to get it done.

Not really. Ichigo’s normal Bankai zanpakuto had the very same shape, but the English anime left it in. Naruto’s dub was only that strict because kids were watching it. Bleach’s is on adultswim, so no edits will be made. In fact, I hear adultswim wants to put more blood into it because lately, the Jap anime has been censoring a lot of stuff (Ulquiorra only burned Uryu’s arm instead of ripping it, and Gin only stabbed Hiyori instead of cutting her in half)

Hey!!everyone..helllooo….this is my first post here in bleachedichigo…i’m a regular visitor nd i read all ov yur discussions and post here in this site…AAwwwwee….forgive me for my english cuz i’m from a third world country…i just wanted to comment on shebeebee’s post..no disrespect to you..regarding that reiatsu sensing ability and power level..only ichigo was able to sense Aizen’s reiatsu in Fake karakura town..and the others i.e. urahara, ishinn nd yourichi were not able to sense aizen’s reiatsu when they were fighting…so according to you..since aizen is not able to sense ichigo’s reiatsu..ichigo power level has gone up…but wat i’m tryin to say is…Tatsuki and keigo were able to sense aizen’s reiatsu but they were not able to sense ichigo’s reiatsu..does that mean keigo and tatsuki are on aizen’s level…i dnt think so..so this whole reiatsu sensing and power level thing iz a bull comin from tite kubo..he’s not consistent at all…that’s it…sorry if i didnt make any sense…

I think not being able to sense Ichigo is a great combo for him with his speed. Since it will be much harder for Aizen to anticipate him when he uses shunpo(was it called shunpo?)

@Uzumaki ichigo kun you have a valid point. Ichigo did say he would end things with Yammy. And it’s just like now, he didn’t say it with a cocky attitude. He had the determination to finish the job at hand. However, at that point he had the same disadvantage that Kenpachi did in Kenpachi and Ichigo’s fight; He wasn’t working with his zanpakuto. He couldn’t even properly summon his mask, there was such a discommunication. The second difference in this is Ichigo’s eyes. Do you remember when Rukia said “those are not the eyes of a man prepared to cut down the enemies ahead… Those eyes are not the eyes of a man victorious”? His eyes are even drawn completely different now. There isn’t cockiness in his words. It’s just like when he fought Yammy, but there is no wrong estimation of Aizen’s powers\abilities this time around… hopfully.

On the “Keigo and Tatsuki being same level as Aizen”, that’s an inconsistency that’s prevailed in Deicide, because fact is that Isshin and Co. could not sense/decipher Aizen reiatsu but Keigo and Tatsuki could “feel” it which does not imply that they are more powerful than Isshin etc. At the very least Ichigo is completely “new” type of power that’s not quite hollow, not quite shinigami, not quite human… But I still maintain that Aizen not being able to sense his reiatsu ties into Shinigami not being able to sense Aizen’s initial evolution reiatsu.

I reckon ichigo’s form actually isnt his bankai. think back to when he fought byakuya, and byakuya said: ‘that is not a bankai’. I think that it will be revealed that ichigo hadn’t actually attained his true power. I agree with Shebeebee that Ichigo is no longer fully shinigami, human or hollow. He will reveal the fact that in order for a human with shinigami and human characteristics cannot just get a shikai, and his initial shikai (big ass sword) wasn’t really a shikai. i say this because has anyone ever noticed now long ichigo can stay in his ‘bankai’ form? that doesnt make sense to me, but with the change in his sword’s hilt, i’m starting to think that his current form is his actual shikai, and then he has a bankai up his sleeve. plus, does anyone else notice that now ichigo looks a lot like the young tensa zangetsu? I think his new bankai will be called Tensa Zengetsu….

@Jabu Ichi’s bankai is already called Tensa Zangetsu, we just don’t hear him say it a lot.
I hope Ichi has some more transformations up his sleeve, and that he makes quick work of Aizen. I’d like to see a new villain introduced after Aizen is defeated, so that the show doesn’t end.
Ichi will not get an ass whopping from Aizen, not yet anyways. I predict it will start off as the fight between ichi and grimmjow back in the real karakura when ichi used his mask for the first time. he will overpower Aizen, then Aizen might transform again and it becomes a little more even, or leans more on Aizen’s side.

@ Cesc. sorry, I didnt emphasise the ‘E’ there. I mean that his bankai will be called: Tensa zEngetsu. i think that the young guy in his inner world was his real sword, and the initial old guy was just there to make him fully realise his power. this new bankai which I believe he will have will be zEngetsu, rather than zAngetsu. I say this mainly because of the help he received from his father. there is clearly a father-son connection in terms of their zanpakutos and this connection will be shown by the fact that I think his bankai’s swords name will change. I think his shikai (what he’s in now in my theory) will be tensa zAngetsu, and his bankai (which I believe he will use after trying his new technique on Aizen) will be tensa zEngetsu. this reminds me of the ichigo byakuya fight because i think ichigo will try this new technique and after being owned by aizen initially he will say: ‘I knew I couldn’t take u on without going bankai’

@about tatsuki and the power level thing – i think what actually went on was this. back before when isshin and them couldn’t comprehend aizen’s, it wasn’t that they couldn’t sense he was there, it was that they couldn’t understand it because he was just too different/powerful for them. but he wasn’t holding anything back at that time either, so they still knew he had reiatsu/power, and so does tatsuki.
for ichigo, he has just trained his powers so well that he is able to mask his reiatsu to the point that someone of even aizen’s caliber can’t sense it. essentially he has completely mastered his powers. it is a pretty good strategy so your opponent (as exampled with the bitch slap) has no clue what they are dealing with.

This was an excellent chapter. Best one in ages. Ichigo interrupted Aizen’s divine speech. TWICE! And spoiled his makeup rather rudely. Gin is not dead, which is good news for me cuz I really like him. Though turning on Aizen was not what I wanted him to do. Oh well. And we all know no fight of any significance ends in an instant.
‘vxjazz’ might just be right. Tite does have a habit of changing scenes just when things get interesting. And I’m sure everyone is wondering what happened yo #0. I sure am. I wanna save the best for last.

@bsk17 I actually agree with you, that would be ok to go back and see the others in Hueco Mundo. It would be nice to hear their thoughts and feelings. I know that Rukia is still bewildered with all the going ons with Ichigo and Yammy. I am also curious to find out what happened between Ishida, Ichigo, and Orihime after Ulquiorra’s death. And we’re all curious to see what went down with Byakuya and Kenpachi’s fight with Yammy. It would be soo awesome if Ichigo-san went back over to Hueco Mundo and finished Yammy off in one strike, for real this time. That would show Kenn-chan and Nii-sama “there is no way that someone like the likes of you could ever be of assistance to two captains”, jerk faces. I love Byakuya-sama, but mannn, he can be a dousch sometimes.

@Jabu – ok why would his new baikai be called zEngetsu instead of zAngetsu as it has always been called.
When ichi went bck to his zanpukto’s world in bakai, its name was Tensa zAngetsu, not Tensa zEngetsu.
If you are implying that his new Baikai is actually ishinn’s sword, then im still confused as ishinn stated the two were different swords.
i just wana know why you think it would be zEngetsu, why the “E” instead of the usual “A”??
though it would be awesome if this form was only his new bankai.

Only Isshin and Ichigo’s zanpakutos are in coillition.
Engetsu= fate(en) getsu(moon)
Zangetsu=cutting(zan) getsu(moon)
And it’s most likely because they’re family.
Kyouka Suigetsu= mirror flower water moon; I don’t know why there would be a connection between these. Maybe, maybe there is and we just haven’t found out yet. The difference is that through translation Ichigo-san and Isshin’s zanpakutos have a clear connection. Isshin’s zanpakuto is the blade of fate: Does anyone remember how in the VERY VERY beginning of the series it was stated how the cresent moon appeared to be a blade swinging down “And the blade of fate swung down”, It’s like the very first line. Cutting moon, fate moon. It’s an absolutely obvious connection. I think that Aizen’s zanpakuto is about as related to Ichigo and Isshin as Omaeda’s is- Gegetsuburi- GETSUburi. I don’t know, maybe they are and I’m just incorrect. We’ll see.

I truely think that at the end of this intense (some-odd numbered chapters) battle that Ichigo will sacrifice himself to kill Aizen and they both die, but Ichigo wakes up in the Soul Society (dead) and is honored as a hero and then Rukia and Ichigo get together!

I dont even care what happenes to aizen any more… It makes since that there will just be another villan after ichigo whoops his ass! Because dont u think it is dumb if they give him new piwers an he has a new hollowfication we barely know about just to end EVERYTHING rite there… I think something is going to happen where they have to go back to hueco mundo that has something to do with Vasto Lordes since thats what aizens been looking for but probably never could find. So maybe the next part of the seris have to do with Vasto Lordes an he is going to use the new power he now has an we can see more of his new hollowfication because if u noticed most of the time if he gets a new power some new enemy reveals hisself…. An dont if u this this is the final battle he an all his friends an stuff would be watching to cheer him on… Just saying

@Mr.mister We don’t even know for sure if Ichigo has a hollowfication now. His sword no longer seems to have a hilt. This might symbolize a final reunion of his abilities with him. Meaning that since his zanpakuto and hollow became one could mean final control. He could posess absolute (my favorite word) control over his zanpakuto. Telekinisos. The glove could be the same thing. What if this chain is permanent? What if this new zanpakuto is permanent? An eternal bond between sword and master. There would’t really be a need for a hollowfication. I’ve kind of started to view it as a flaw. It’s his weakness. That much has been proven.

I hope they will do something with hell, in the begining of bleach the gate to hell appeared and rukia stated that those who did bad things while they were alive was sent there wich means theres LOADS of really bad guys there. i mean it would be totaly to introduce it have it in one chapter and then dont do anything with it.

Yeah it may be right the thing that ichigo is more sure of himself , when the training in the inner world begin , tensa say that “what are you afraid of? ” so might tensa bet him an purifing his soul , whit no regrets fear or something

It just occurred to me that Ichigo-san isn’t wearing his geta. That’s good cause I like it better when he runs around barefoot. It’s cooler.

I think that it will be revealed that there is a second Bankai for Ichigo. Maybe his first one is actually the shikai. Maybe he will do the whole Ulquiorra Segunda Etapa type thing. Who knows. I do agree with there being something with Vasto Lordes or hell. Some new amazing new Enemy that is stronger than Aizen that has a perfected Hougyoku and there will be Vasto Lordes Arrancar and Espada. There will be a shizload.of new stuff happening. I think in the end there will be atleast 550 chapters.

i don’t think it’s a second bankai thing. i believe it’s more like the “know how” of his powers.
his dad called it the final “getsuga”. and i don’t think it’s something that everyone else thinks. it’s not an attack. his attack is called “getsuga tenshou”, not “getsuga” alone.
we’re supposed to get flashbacks of what happened, so until then, it’s hard to know cuz the entire thing about ichigo’s power is not clear whatsoever.

but here’s a theory for those interested:
something i can’t help but notice in kubo’s style is his strong belief of Einstein’s relativity theory. since it’s the base of today’s “science”.
i hope most of us know what the theory talks about. it’s the relationship between energy and matter in the passage of space/time. space/time is mostly represented by the speed of light and the space light travels in a given time. Einstein states that “energy” and “matter” come from the same “thing”, that “thing” was later on known as “quantum foam”. some physicists describe “quantum foam” as a “will” or “presence”, and it’s something that cannot be “seen”, only measured with math. meaning, that energy can be converted to matter and matter to energy, but both have go through a phase shift back to the original state of what they come from. (i’m not being 100% accurate here, but it’s useful for those who don’t know about it, wikipedia is a good source).
we can relate all this to the theory behind “shinigami powers” and “hollow powers” and how they all originate from the same “thing”. the hogyuku was described as a “will”, so it’s something close to the “origin” of both shinigami and hollow powers, and something that can cross the boundaries between the two. i might say that the hogyuku is nothing but a “form” of that “thing”, but NOT the “thing” itself.
ichigo on the other hand might be closer to that “origin” than aizen, cuz we’ve all seen the splendid control he has now over his powers. allow me to elaborate:
in nuclear enegry, matter is converted from state A to state B, that conversion leaves part of the matter “left out” and back to the original form, therefore releasing a huge amount of energy and radiation. radiation is released due to the fact that we DON’T have full control of the conversion, but the lack of control is in fact what gives us the desired energy. in physical terms, the conversion is NOT “clean”.
if it WAS “clean”, then matter would convert from one state to another without the “side effects”, and due to that, there wouldn’t be any “unneeded” energy “wasted” or radiation during the conversion. radiation, over time, changes the state of the matter emitting it, so it’s someone “degrades” that matter from the form desired.
this describes what i’m talking about. we can describe that energy as reiatsu. and the fact that reiatsu “leaks out” or “radiates” is due to the fact that most shinigami/hollow don’t have that “full control” hence “radiation”.
ichigo now has full “clean” control of that power. his physical form is now complete, and he can convert his powers to reiatsu as needed in the amount needed. that’s why none of it is “leaking out”. if he needs a small amount, then that’s all he’s going to emit, and if he needs something neer infinity, he’s also capable of that.

lol moe, a bit far fetched for me but we’ll see, i’ve been surprised many a times b4.
I was going to say that it would make sense that Tensa Zangetsu was actually only a shikai, but then i remembered Tensa Zangetsu stating Ichigo had never entered the world in bankai prior to that moment.
But hey, there could still be the possibility of a SUPER bankai, just like Ulquiorra did with his second release.
Reason why I was gona say it makes that Tensa Zangetsu was actually only a shikai is because when ichi first got his powers, they were from Rukia, so we could argue that it was not really his power, or Zanpakuto. He does not get Zangetsu until he lost Rukia’s powers and stated training with Urahara. After his sword transformed, Urahara did not say it was a shikai, no one did, all Urahara said was “…your sword has finally come out”

We do all know that Ichigo’s first zanpakuto was actually a perfect replica of Rukia-chan’s zanpakuto right? Only a little bigger and with two ribbons on the hilt. Even the guard design was the same.
@lilmoe right on man. I’d actually been thinking about that for a while. Not exactly that, but on the topic of Ichigo’s reiatsu leaking out like a “fauset”. I have also been thinking about the theory of atom space and matter. How Gin’s Kami ShiniYari could turn to dust and reform without ever possibly being noticed. There is a theory thought about by a few scientists that every 60 times you slam your hand on a desk it goes through the desk once. Let me explain:
The nuclei of atoms that make up things, that make up desks, are attracted to electrons. Atom’s nucleus are so tiny that it takes the highest magnification to see them as a pin prick. The nuclei attract the electrons with a positive charge. Around these are a circle of tiny nuetrons smaller than even the nucleus. Leaving everything else inside the atom walls empty. So much empty space surrounded by charged atoms suggests that the molecular structure of it all reorders itself for such a short time that it’s non existent. Faster than the speed of light. We would never know. It’s only a theory, but the same principle applies to Gin’s Kami Shiniyari I think. Any thoughts?
Btw I very much agree with you, lilmoe, about Ichigo having absolutely mastered his abilities. This is like in DBZ when Goku arrives at Namick and the Ginyu force all think that Goku has a power level of 5,000 and it’s actually like 500,000. And he’s able to release it in small undetectable bursts. lolz, good times, good times:)

i don’t fully understand the theory behind matter and spice/time myself, but i have a general idea of the subject. atoms on the other hand are NOT the smallest thing in matter. the smallest thing discovered (so far) is what i described earlier and is called “quantum foam”. let me try to describe to you how small this “foam” is. image the difference in size between an apple and the sun. big right? ok then, imagine the difference in size between an ATOM and the sun. even bigger right? here’s what’s amazing, the difference in size between an atom and quantum foam, is even LARGER than the difference in size between an atom and the sun…
just imagine how much quantum foam makes up the universe, looool. God is amazing isn’t He?

I’m still not buying this though. My Willing Suspension of Disbelief has ended, all thanks to Aizen’s constant transforming. I don’t want it to sound like I’m complaining or anything, but I just think Aizen is too omniscient, and omnipotent to be beaten by a mere Bankai technique, even with the help of a Hollow. Tite pushed Aizen to a point where its just unbelievable for him to be killed by anyone but the Soul King himself. I suppose he expects us to forget all of Aizen’s achievements over the past 30 chapters and just consider he and Ichigo are equal. Sorry Kubo, but I’m just not buying it.

Actually, every Shinigami thus far has full control of their Reiatsu. I assume that’s one of the basics they would teach at the Shinigami Academy. The reason why some are weaker than others is because the don’t have high enough Reiatsu.

. Goku’s power level was 90,000 when he arrived on Namek, but by usin the technique, “Kaioken”, he can multiply his power level. So when he used Kaioken x2 his power level went to 180,000, which was much higher than Captain Ginyu’s 120,000. Here’s a fun-fact about power levels. Frieza’s full First form power was 530,000. and about the link to the door to hell. i kind of think that whole scene about the door to hell was just an idea tite thought he would expand on, but ended up not going in that direction with it. but of course since it ended up in a manga chapter, people dwell on it and expect it to return any day now. which it should if tite had thought things out properly, i just don’t think he did back then.

@ssj, Well I think Hollows and Shinigami really have gotten boring. The strongest a Hollow can get is to become a Vasto Lorde, and Vasto Lorde were beaten already, so they’re really not a threat anymore. The Gotei 13 have lost all credibility as well. So the only places left are Hell and the King’s Realm. If Kubo wants to milk the cash cow even more, those are the only places left…or he could just make up more worlds, but that’s just cheap >_>

seems u misunderstood what i meant about “full control”.
reiatsu is power. if you have full control you can turn it on or off as u wish. no matter how much others tried to conceal their reiatsu, it still showed just a bit enough for someone else to tell it’s “there”, having full control over your powers and having too much of it are 2 different things though. i wrote a huge post to explain what i meant, lol. since tite is so obsessed with space/time stuff i had to go somewhat deep in that theory.
dare me say, i’m not a fan of DBZ… oops, did i step on a landmine? j/k
@stargirl: here’s another theory.
have you ever heard how bees choose their queen? it turns out any bee can be the queen if the original queen dies for any reason. the candidate, though, has to have special characteristics though, and with the right “food” it will grow bigger and turn into a queen.
i think the same goes for ichigo. he has the “right” characteristics to be king. the “king” has complete dominance over reiatsu and the origin of shinigami/hollow powers. i think ichigo does now, and he’s a good candidate.

hey, i was thinking a bit about the “king’s key”.
according to the captain commander, the whereabouts of the key are only known to captain commanders, and when a new one is selected, the old captain tells them by word of mouth (in secret) about the whereabouts.
and from what it seemed from the fight with aizen, i think the commander is dead right? crap!!!! now no one will know where the key’s at!!!
