Bleach Chapter 419 – Deicide 21 (Transcendent God Rock)
This chapter might as well be a giant middle finger to all the die-hard Aizen fans out there. Their wish came true, Aizen actually transformed, AGAIN!, but to what avail?
The caption on the first page says “Ichigo was thought to have lost his reiatsu, but…?!” This is further proof that Aizen was just making comforting assumptions about Ichigo last chapter, and the strawberry hides his true power somewhere inside. The slash Ichigo delivered to Aizen’s torso at the end of 418 forces him to transport to a nearby cliff while his regenerative powers heal the wound. It seems that those are his only advantageous powers over Ichigo anymore. Ichigo recalls Aizen teasing him for once putting distance between them. This taunt pushes Aizen over the edge. As he screams in a fit of rage at Ichigo, the mark on his forehead grows into what appears to be another eye. The eye starts bleeding, then expands grotesquely, engulfing Aizen’s entire being.

His new form is nothing like his previous ones. It seems much more hollow-like. He looks a lot like Ichigo’s first hollow transformation, but with three hollow holes down his torso. His hands and feet become black, and demonic looking, with his sword completely morphed into his right arm. Oddly enough, his mask is black, allowing his long hair to flow out the back. The form would actually look pretty cool if it weren’t for what happened to his “wings.” They now look like the fins of a devil ray, but with these stupid looking hollow-skulls perched on top. A true contrast from his previous angelic-looking form.
Perhaps to the surprise of many, Aizen still maintains his consciousness in this new form. He attributes his transformation to the fact that the hougyoku will not allow him to lose to a lowly human. One of his skulls shoots something similar to a cero at Ichigo, who takes the blast head on. The explosion dwarfs anything we saw in the Ichigo-Ulquiorra bout, sending a missive pillar of sheer power into the stratosphere.
Ichigo exposes himself from within the blast. His shirt couldn’t withstand the blast, but he looks fine. He stopped it with his left hand, which looks a little charred. Aizen assumes it must be useless now after taking the blast, but Ichigo doesn’t looked worried about it in the slightest. Aizen launches himself at Ichigo, and grips him around the throat. His wings surround Ichigo, ready to each send a similar blast at point blank.

Of course Aizen has to start monologuing. The new term for what him and Ichigo have become is a “transcendental.” Aizen hasn’t been known to make false assumptions about his opponents before Ichigo, but now he can’t stop doing it. He thinks Ichigo lost all of his power, why?, I have no clue, but he does. Just as he is about to “finish him off” Ichigo finally makes his move.
He finally releases a bit of his reiatsu, forcing Aizen to lose his grip, and sends the gathered energy backward. As Ichigo’s energy seeps out, it causes some of his remaining clothing to literally melt off of him. He has finally heard enough of Aizen’s bullshit, as have we. He is going to show him the final Getsuga Tenshou…

A couple of things I’d like to add:
-This can’t be the end because:
- The structure of the battle – This is possibly the final battle of the series. If not, at least the final battle of an extremely long saga. It can’t be as one sided as this. Think back, all of you, to all the final battles you have seen. The protagonist always struggles before victory. Ichigo has not struggled yet.
- We have yet to see Ichigo’s new mask.
- We have yet to see Aizen’s bankai (assuming he can still access it).
-Ichigo’s eyes reveal all. Gin knew this, and it has proven true. All you have to do to see how the fight is going to go is look into Ichigo’s eyes. (You probably knew this)

Aizen’s shikai is useless future commeters just to tell you (don’t know about Bankai)
because Ichigo has not seen him release it yet so no hax powers from Aizen
By isak, September 9, 2010 @ 11:38 am
I dont really know what to say about aizens new look… one side sais: AWESOME!!! another says: PLEASE FOR THE NAME OF GOD, PUT YOUR FACE ON AGAIN!!
By Rrasik, September 9, 2010 @ 12:05 pm
@ isak I agree with your second side: Put your face back on XP
I also have to agree with the comment about the stupid skulls that are perched on Aizen’s wings. Really? I think the decorations are getting a little excessive.
A quick question: Does having three hollow holes have some sort of signifigance? Did someone explain that somewhere and I just missed it, or am I looking too much into the “decorations”?
As for this battle, I cannot WAIT to see how it turns out. However, on the other hand, what the HELL is going on in Hueco Mundo? What about Rukia, Renji, Kenpachi, and Byakuya? Did they beat “What’s his name” (I really can’t recall his name right now =X)? Or Uryuu and Inoue? And what about the other captains? WHAT ABOUT YAMA-JII?!?!? Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing Ichigo kick some major ass, but it’s been a long time since we’ve seen anything about the rest of the gang.

im curious to see the future of bleach
By Pretend3r, September 9, 2010 @ 1:13 pm
So far I like Ichigo in this battle. I havent seem him this determined since his fight against Byakuya. I am not all surprised anymore that Aizen is still evolving. This form truely like Ichigo’s earlier full-hollow transformation back during the mask-training.
By quincy lord, September 9, 2010 @ 1:25 pm
Finally some epicness, but alas Aizen is still just Ichigo’s girlfriend. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
First was that Ichigo’s sword fusing with his hand.
Second for all this going on in the Soul Society and still no intervention from the Royal Guard means:
They always knew Ichigo could handle this.
Or the Soul King is so powerful that even with all of Aizens evolotions/ transcendence he is still no match for the king.
By yatta, September 9, 2010 @ 1:25 pm
butterfree + spawn + venom = aizen’s new form.
By Shebeebee, September 9, 2010 @ 1:29 pm
A few points on the breakdown ssj:
- I don’t think he’s been “engulfed” it looks like the hougyoku has burst from within and split Aizen’s face down the middle. In a couple of panels you can see his eyes on the side and his skin all pushed back. So that hair is hanging from flaps of skin! This leads me to believe that this is just a stage in “evolution” or the path to Aizen being pushed aside and, as someone pointed out, the hougyoku taking complete control. So unfortunately Aizen transformations have not ended.
- When he breaks Aizens grip isn’t that from Strawberry sword swing and not release of reiatsu?
I’m actually digging these last few chapters. Forget the logic and power jumps, just some good ole ass whoopin’!!!
By bloodsasuke, September 9, 2010 @ 3:08 pm
@Rrasik
ty you jinxed it! Kubo skips back to another part of the story everytime something epic is about 2 happen! You had to ask about Yammy n Renji NOW?! Kubo FORBID HE DECIDES TO GO BACK TO DON KANONJI NEXT CHAPTER!! THANX ALOT -.-
By ssj, September 9, 2010 @ 3:51 pm
@shebeebee – you’re right about it bursting from the inside, i just used the word “engulfed” because i like it.
and yes ichigo did swing his sword, but something about the energy scattering in every direction, even behind him, leads me to believe he released energy/reiatsu/something. also his clothes burning off his body hint toward this.
By Karijow, September 9, 2010 @ 3:54 pm
This has got to be THE most anti-climactic battle ever! If it reall does end next chapter, all I can say is “Thank you Tite for trolling us”.
Aaaanyway, how could the Hogyouku act without Aizen activating it. It was subdued by his will (or so he claims), so it should only use its powers when he wants it to, not at its own discretion. Tite is massacring Aizen’s established character
By Karijow, September 9, 2010 @ 3:56 pm
@yatta, lmao!!! Lol never call Aizen a butterfree…..becauze he looks more like a beautifly
By lilmoe, September 9, 2010 @ 6:17 pm
i called it!!!
he shot something from his “wings”
damn i’m good… lol
By Karijow, September 9, 2010 @ 6:32 pm
@lilmoe, I called another transformation
By lilmoe, September 9, 2010 @ 11:09 pm
do you guys see something similar between ulquiorra’s transformation and aizen’s? especially the “wings”, and the black tips of the arms and legs. it seems that the power given by the hogyuku dictates transformations in the body by stages, and most are similar, ull’s second release is probably closer to that.
on the other hand, ichigo’s is “cleaner” and he’s grasped the “origin” of that power. only without “help”. it’s telling us more and more that ichigo’s transformation is indeed different.
By lilmoe, September 9, 2010 @ 11:10 pm
similarity***
By isak, September 10, 2010 @ 2:14 am
yup next week theyre going back to kanonji T__T
By ssj, September 10, 2010 @ 11:54 am
@lilmoe – you may be right. but i just think that tite has certain traits in his mind that he attributes to characters that are supposed to look demonic and evil.
@rasik – i don’t think there is any significance to 3 hollow holes, if that is in fact what they are. i just think it is another way tite distinguishes aizen-whatever he is- from normal hollows.
By stargirl, September 10, 2010 @ 2:26 pm
Is it remotely possible that Ichigo-san has surpassed the Hougyoku itself?
Also @Karijow about the Hougyoku thing from the last chapter: Tell me you remember Aizen’s chapter long rant about how he used the hougyoku to further Ichigo’s progress. Ichigo doesn’t have to have a Hougyoku embedded in his chest for this to happen. Besides, like I’ve said before, why would Aizen even choose Ichigo? Is it possible that because he is this human-Shinigami hybrid that it allows him to reach ridiculous amounts of power? Or is having a hollowfication part of it? Either way, no one would read Bleach if it wasn’t like that. Would anyone like Zelda if Link wasn’t the hero of time? Would anyone give Final Fantasy VII the time of day if it weren’t for Cloud? Would anyone like DBZ if Goku wasn’t awesome and instead just fat, lazy, elvis-Goku? No. No they wouldn’t. Sometimes it’s just fun to be 5 and enjoy something. Every now and then I like to take a break from disecting Bleach (even though I do very much enjoy doing so), like lilmoe, you, and I do so very often, lol. Even if it’s a breif break. I know some part of you likes all the cliche of Bleach. Oh well. Props to Kubo:)
By lilmoe, September 10, 2010 @ 3:12 pm
sorry guys, this is going to be a long post…
@stargirl, i’m not sure if it’s about the hogyuko anymore when it comes to ichigo. if it was then i bet urahara would have a pretty good idea of what ichigo’s power really is, and would concentrate on building up that power for ichigo to face off aizen from the first place.
again, i’m sure urahara has a very good grasp on the theory behind the hogyuku, and if ichigo’s powers had anything to do with it, it would have been simpler to teach ichigo how to control that power instead of building up plans with yoruichi to dispose of aizen.
remember, his dad was talking about the final getsuga, he had nothing to say about the hogyuku. so i’m sure it was something “known” before the hogyuko was ever discovered.
it’s the part of a shinigami mating with a human that i think was “known” in the past; a more natural progress to that “power”.
———–
and to add to that, there’s a huge gap in the story about his dad and his dad’s relationship with both aizen and urahara. and how it all started. his dad was probably a candidate to have an offspring with the potential of that power because he fell in love with a human.
it wouldn’t be wise to speculate anymore about what that “power” is unless we get to hear either that part of the story OR what actually happened in ichigo’s inner world. and obviously, aizen’s “explanation” is far from being close to the truth.
the hogyuku was probably an alternative to achieving that power.
im interested in the part of the story 100 years ago, when urahara was promoted to captain from the first place. the entire incident was mysterious. why urahara? and why did he start with that research from the first place? it’s obvious he was intentionally researching the hogyuki, but why? i’m pretty we’re left out in the dark about this…
By lilmoe, September 10, 2010 @ 3:16 pm
sorry; urahara AND aizen have a good idea about the theory behind the hogyuku. and since aizen’s explanation of what ichigo’s power really is, then there’s a good chance ichigo’s power isn’t bound by the hogyuku. either this, or aizen himself doesn’t know everything there is to know about the hogyuku. the hogyuku might be using aizen as a pawn.
By stargirl, September 10, 2010 @ 3:51 pm
“The Hougyoku might be using Aizen as a pawn”, that’s what I’m saying, lilmoe:) I think now that it’s been awakened it’s like an organism that needs a host. Ichigo will have had to surpass the Hougyoku in order to defeat Aizen. That much has been proven.
By bsk17, September 11, 2010 @ 10:52 am
i wanna see aizen’s face. take of that mask. and to think it was him that said he wouldn’t stoop so low as to acquire hollow powers. maybe the hougyoku has hollow leanings. i always thought the hougyoku being all that powerful and being the answer to all of aizen’s problems was a bit lame. too much focus of that crystal. and we still don’t really know what it is. the final getsuga tenshou. i’d really hate it if it turned out to some super slash maybe twice as big as that blast aizen made.
By stargirl, September 11, 2010 @ 2:12 pm
@bask17 Why would you hate that, I think that would be awesome…
By stargirl, September 11, 2010 @ 2:13 pm
“@bask17″- @bsk17, sorry
By John, September 11, 2010 @ 6:04 pm
Urahara is Ichigo’s real dad! lol. Talk about Kubo dropping a bombshell like that one. Seriously, if there is one thing I’ve learned from reading multiple manga is that as soon as the Villain starts getting desperate and goes trough a less than aesthetic transformation, it often means their end. Example, Frieza in DBZ in his 100% form, he actually started to lose power. Once a “villain” loses his humanoid form it’s only a matter of time, till they die. So long Aizen. You bad cliche for a villain. lol
By stargirl, September 11, 2010 @ 8:34 pm
I don’t think Aizen-sama is a cliche. I think he’s quite original and well done. Besides the fact that he is following in Frieza’s footsteps. Poor guy, if only he watched DBZ, then he would know. I suppose his act is cliche, but definately not his design. Lol, ok perhaps he is a cliche.
By Karijow, September 12, 2010 @ 7:08 am
“Would anyone like DBZ if Goku wasn’t awesome and instead just fat, lazy, elvis-Goku” Yes, I’d like that very much. It just means Vegeta gets to kick copious amounts of Gluteus Maximus
@Ichigo’s power, I finally cracked it! Tite is going the way of DBZ. In DBZ, Human-Saiyan hybrids got powerful much faster than just Saiyans or Humans could do on their own. The average Saiyan didn’t even have a power level of 10,000, but Goten and Trunks as kids were stronger than Frieza (who had a power level of 120,0000). Human-Saiyan Hybrids also got more powerful or weaker depending on their emotional state. Kubo borrows from DBZ yet again lol!
By Karijow, September 12, 2010 @ 7:10 am
@stargirl, if we’re talking about over-analyzing check this out
http://community.livejournal.com/pokemon/1575631.html
I dare you (or anyone else) to read the whole thing lol
By Karijow, September 12, 2010 @ 7:18 am
oops. I meant 120,000000 not 12 million
Is Aizen a cliché? Yes he is, to an extent. As Captain Aizen (before he showed the Hogyouku implant) he was omniscient and omnipotent, has generic motives, wants to rule the world and uses everyone and killing those who fail him. What’s different about him from the typical villain? Simple really, he likes tea
By stargirl, September 12, 2010 @ 6:11 pm
Aizen is not God. He isn’t perfect and he’s not even close to being God. “God” isn’t transendent. “God” is never changing. Aizen is in a constant evolution, he could never be God. Ichigo so far appears to be constant. I am not calling Ichigo God, but simply stating that I think the Hougyoku could never have him now, because of the constance of this “final” state. Aizen is just Iccarus, and just as bad as the humans he hates so much. He doesn’t mean anything.
By bsk17, September 13, 2010 @ 1:10 pm
@startgirl: yeah i know some ppl like flashy moves like that. i used to too. ichigo vs ully fight pretty much satisfied me. even soi fon had a flashy bankai. i want something new. say, a move that destroys only what the user wants and doesn’t make the whole area look like it was a nuclear test site or something. and we all saw that explosion aizen made. all that and ichigo was barely charred.
but i’d settle for what kubo gives. he probably won’t disappoint me.
one more thing, who likes the new aizen? he’s changed. not just appearance. he’s not as calm-looking as before. more eager to attack and says things like “i’ll kill you” “you’re dead” and the like
By Karijow, September 13, 2010 @ 1:17 pm
@BSK, I don’t like the new Aizen. Captain Aizen was much scarier cuz you didn’t know what he was thinking and while he pwning you he has that smirk plus he’s giving you a lecture at the same time. This Aizen looks creepy but it isn’t even remotely as scary as Captain Aizen. I’d even say Captain Aizen could beat this Aizen
By Pretend3r, September 13, 2010 @ 3:57 pm
He is acting a bit like Byakuya did when Ichigo went Bankai. A different speech but their emotional state seems similar enough.
‘omgwtfhaxx’
By John, September 13, 2010 @ 4:30 pm
Another thing to remember about villains and heroes is that, the more feminine, for lack of a better word, or the more devoid their face of emotion is the more powerful he will be in relation to all other characters in their given universe. Examples: Itachi-Naruto, Seshomaru-Inuyasha, Aizen-Bleach, Natureza or what ever his name is- Captain Tsubasa and so on. The only one’s that match or surpass this kind of “phenomena” or whatever, is the stereotypical comedic relief archtype who doesn’t take himself seriously until the end and the protagonist, of course. That being said I picture either Ichigo or Urahara taking down Aizen, I wouldn’t be surprised if Urahara is secretly the last boss, a dude that rarely takes himself seriously like that, who hasn’t even relied on Bankai, who is beyond Aizen’s intellect, has got more up his sleeve than he is showing and he is the comedic relief in the show, well in my opinion anyway, the stereotypical funny, “perverted” businessman, with a hidden agenda. Sorry for the long post.
By John, September 13, 2010 @ 4:34 pm
Oh! and on a side note hasn’t anyone noticed the similarity between Aizen’s new design and Nagato’s Gedo Mazo? I think Kishi and Tite are recycling ideas from each others mangas, I’m just saying, not a criticism, just an observation.
By ssj, September 13, 2010 @ 5:04 pm
you know john, i kind of like the idea of urahara using aizen as an experiment all this time.
By stargirl, September 13, 2010 @ 10:02 pm
@John I agree. The more devoid of emotion the more powerful they are. That’s why Aizen has gotten weaker and Ichigo stronger. If anyone has noticed Ichigo is “replaying”, if you will, lines and moves of the foes of past battles. Not only that, but Ichigo is starting to look like Gin. Not creepy fake Gin, but the real Gin we saw a few chapters ago. He isn’t afraid or obsessed with power anymore. Why for a couple chapters I forgot he was a 15/16 year old human BOY. Just a boy. Alot of the characters in Bleach also seem to forget this alot. Not like it matters anything anymore.
On a lighter more comical note, did anyone watch the 10th anniversery episode 287 of Bleach. It was amazing! Arabian nights, fish cakes, Kon lamp, Lampsociety, Chigo, Ori Mei, Urio, Chaido, Ren Jin, Rukiruki, Uri Vira! Omg best episode of Bleach ever made. I loved it sooo much. lol, everyone must go to animeboy.org right now and watch it. Amazing…

that nutty professor from soul society, was his name mayuri? ya, that…
he said the BEST thing i ever heard about what “perfect” is, and what people who desperately seek “perfect” end up with; NOTHING…
if you’re perfect, then there’s no dreams, no hope, no innovation, no creativity, no more power to gain, no one beside you. you will be lonely, miserable, messed up…….nothing…
and it’s true, people who seek “perfect” are pathetic. and him or anyone else being anywhere near 10^-999999999999999999999999 (that’s 10 to the power of negative infinity) of God or His power is nothing but an insulting and a pathetic idea.

ahh Futari Ecchi lol. Its hentai without the hen (if you know what I mean)
