Kensei is a vaizard, and the former captain of the 9th division of the Gotei 13.  Kensei is tall and muscular, with tan skin and silver hair. He has a “69″ tattoo on his chest, 6 for the kanji of his last name, and 9 for the 9th division. This is where Hisagi got the idea for his “69″ tattoo. Kensei is one of the stronger vaizards, being a former captain, and prefers hand-to-hand combad with his opponents.

100 years before the current events of the storyline, Kensei and some members from his squad were sent on a mission to investigate the disappearance of several gotei members. It was then that he was betrayed by his own subordinate Kaname Tosen, and Aizen, and turned into a hollow along with the rest of the current vaizards.

Kensei’s zanpakuto is called Tachikaze. When sealed, it looks like a small katana, but with the release command “Blow it away,” it transforms into what resembles a black hunting knife. Some abilities in this form are the manipulation of wind in combination with his own spiritual energy to create powerful attacks. His Bankai is Tekken Tachikaze, where it further transforms into a pair of knuckle blades for each fist, connected by a protective, armor-like band wrapping up each arm and arching over his back. Kensei seems to use his hollow powers the least, tending to only need his shinigami or hand-to-hand skills, but when he does use his mask, it resembles a tall, flat hockey mask. When fighting with his mask, other than the regular enhancements, he also gains energized punches.

Hayori was formerly a Lieutenant of the 12th Division under Captain Kirio Hikifune. When Kirio was transferred to the Royal Guard (0 Squad), Kisuke Urahara became her new captain but Hayori never respected him even though he was her superior. In fact, Hiyori ill-temperament and violent tendencies extends to many of those around her, especially Shinji Hirako. True to her nature, Hayori tends to be highly aggressive in battle and has a hard time controlling her temper. This rashness can often lead to trouble and it is often Shinji who keeps her in check.

Hayori uses both kicks and her zanpakuto in combat in effective combination. Her zanpakuto is named Kubikiri Orochi which transforms into a large cleaver in its shikai state with the command “Chop Cleanly.” The cleaver is similar to Ichigo’s zanpakuto but has several serrated blades like a saw. Hayori’s Hollow mask is distinctive with its single large horn protruding from the forehead. Hayori took the longest to defeat her Inner Hollow during their training to become Vizards.

Mashiro Kuna was formerly a lieutenant to the 9th Division under Kensei Muguruma, and later became a Vizard. Mashiro has very childish mannerisms, even when she was a lieutenant in the Gotei 13. These traits even carry over to battle as she enjoys using superhero themed moves and attacks. However, this does not diminish her battle prowess as her physical strikes are very power, especially when Mashiro dons her Hollow mask. Mashiro is also very friendly with Hachi, but can be childishly protective as when she began throwing tantrum after Hachi became friends with Orihime.

Mashiro’s Hollow mask resembles a hornet’s head. It is said that she was the only one of the Vizarda who could maintain her mask for 15 hours without any prior training. Since Mashiro prefers hand to hand combat, her mask enhances both her strength, toughness and speed in combat. She mainly focuses her power in various powerful kicks and is even able to fire Ceros by kicking the air in Vizard form.

Aaroniero Arruruerie

Aaroniero is the 9th Espada in Aizen’s arrancar army and is one of the first generation Espada that existed prior to Aizen’s arrival in Heuco Mundo. Aaroniero has an odd appearance, even for an arrancar – in place of a normal head, he has a large, glass cylindrical capsule containing two floating heads floating in liquid. When first encountered by Kuchiki Rukia, Aaroniero took the appearance of Rukia’s former senpei, Kaien Shiba and was even able to use Kaien’s shikai abilities. It was later revealed that the Hollow, Metastacia, which fused with Kaien prior to his death managed to return to Heuco Mundo, but was consumed by Aaroniero since one of his abilities is to absorb the powers of Hollows he eats. Aaroniero tried to use the guise of Kaien to lure Rukia into a trap, but Rukia was able to detect his deception in time to defeat Aaroniero.

Aaroniero’s zanpakuto is Glotonería which appears as a deformed appendage hidden in his left hand. Because Asroniero also indirectly absorbed Kaien’s spirit, he is also able to use his zanpakto, Nejibana. The Resurrección command for Glotoneria is “Devour” which transforms it into a large blob-like mass with a multitude of tentacles. As stated, Aaroniero’s special abiltity is to absorb other Hollows and their powers – one of the reasons why he became a top Espada. After cannibalizing Metastacia, Aaroniero gained all the abilities of that Hollow including body possession, mimic combat skills and manifest whatever powers of those he had absorbed.
