Zommari Leroux

Zommari is an arrancar and the 7th ranked espada in Aizen’s army. The remains of his hollow mask consist of small spikes on his head immitating a mohawk, a pair of earrings, and a necklace. Neither his hollow hole nor his ranking  tattoo are visible. He wears tight white garbs, and is  tall, muscular, dark skinned.

For the most part, Zommari is a very calm, quiet, and collected individual. He is extremely loyal to Aizen, to the point where he would abandon his usual demeanor and acts more like an enraged sociopath. He despises all shinigami except for his three generals, Aizen, Gin, and Tosen, because of they kill his fellow hollow for their “evil” nature.

Zommari’s zanpakuto is named Brujeria. In its sealed state it looks like a normal katana with a black, spikey guard. His resurreccion is triggered with the command “suppress,” and transforms his lower half into what looks like a pink pumpkin, with eyes looking in every direction. His upper body remains human-like, with his tight white garbs now covering his head too, and also grows eyes looking in all directions. In this form he has the ability to take control of  the movement of one object per eye. Also, he can hide for protection inside his lower half, becoming one sphere.

Zommari met his demise at the hands of Byakuya Kuchiki. His aspect of death is “Intoxication”.

Yammy Riyalgo is an Arrancar in Sousuke Aizen’s army, the first Espada to be introduced in the series, alongside Ulquiorra Cifer. He is the only Espada whose rank changes, from 10 to 0, after he releases. Yammy is a rather large Espada in his normal form, whose size can actually increase substantially after resting and gathering up spirit energy. Yammy has dark skin, a ridge-lined skull, and red hair. His hollow hole is located in the center of his chest, and the remnants of his hollow mask rest on his lower jaw.

Yammy’s aspect of death is rage, which can be easily compared to his personality, as he has shown to lose his temper on several occasions when things don’t go his way. He has been shown to be extremely brutal toward his subordinates, but in Ulquiorra and Aizen’s case, is quite respectful to his superiors.

Yammy’s Zanpakuto is named Ira, which means rage. When releasing Ira, Yammy’s spiritual power grows so much that his rank changes from last (10th) to first (0). His released form is the largest we have seen yet, even larger than the fraccion Poww. Aside from the increase in height, Yammy also grows large black rods sticking out of his body, and a tail that grows 12 more legs and a club-like tail. As he gets more and more enraged, the power of his ressurection and his size increase.

Yammy has no fraccion, but is seen with a hollow-like dog in his quarters.

Ulquiorra Cifer is the first Espada to be introduced in the series, alongside Yammi Riyalgo. He is the Cuatro Espada (Foutrh Sword) in Aizen Sousuke’s Arrancar army.

Koyote Stark and Lillinette Gingerback

Stark is an Arrancar under the command of Sousuke Aizen’s army. He is the Primera (1st) Espada, and as such is the second strongest Arrancar under Aizen’s command. The remains of his Hollow mask consist of his former lower jaw bone, and is worn as a necklace. His Hollow hole is just below his neck, and his ranking tattoo is on the back side of his left hand, covered by his white glove. His aspect of death is loneliness.
Lillinette  is a female arrancar with a helmet-like mask. She treats Stark with much disrespect. On multiple occasions she has been seen physically abusing him for not acting as the Primera Espada should, like when he allows Barragan (a lower ranked Espada) to take charge in Aizen’s absence.

Stark is a very laid back Espada, often not caring about the catostrophic events occuring around him. He is often compared to Shunsui, Captain of the 8th Division in the Gotei 13. When encountering the shinigami in the fake Karakura, he even insists to Shunsui that they fake fight until the battle is over. He has shown little care for his fellow Espada, and even less for Aizen’s goals. He is however quite disturbed after witnessing all of his fellow arrancar die.

Despite his carefree appearance, Stark has proven to be a very skilled individual, snatching Orihime for Aizen, with Ichigo and Kenpachi were only a few feet away. Also, when him and Shunsui were fighting, he displayed the ability to completely analyze the swing speed and power of his opponent.

An interesting fact about Stark and Lilinette is that they were once a single hollow, which split into two, thus when they activate their ressureccion, they merge into one being again. In resurrected form they can split off more parts of their spirit to produce wolf bombs. Stark’s specialty is the cero. He can fire especially strong ceros, including a barrage of ceros, from his twin guns – the shape Lilinette takes after the ressureccion.

Stark and Lilinette participate in the battle of Karakura town, where they take on Ukitake Jyuushiro, Kyouraku Shunsui, Aikawa Love and Otoribashi Rose. Even though they are successful in defeating Love and Rose and getting rid of Ukitake, they are killed by a surprise attack from Shunsui. In their last moments they remember their life, filled with loneliness and sadness.

Tia Hallibel (Tear Harribel)

Halibel is an Arrancar in Sousuke Aizen’s army. She is the 3rd ranked Espada, and therefore is supposedly the 3rd strongest Arrancar in the army. The remains of her Hollow mask cover her jaw, then a strip runs down her neck, to cover the insides of her breasts. The location of her Hollow hole is not known.

Halibel is a calm, quiet Arrancar, but is very confident in her abilities. She is polite to her peers when in turn treated with respect, but when disrespected or when interacting with the enemy, she has shown to be quite spiteful. Halibel, unlike some other Espada, is very caring of her fraccion. She even goes as far as to challenge Yamamoto as revenge for defeating her fallen fraccion.

Hallibel’s ressureccion:

It is theorized that she was a Vasto-Lorde ranked Menos before becoming an Arrancar, as all Espada ranked 4 and above are forbidden to release their powers within the dome of Las Noches because the sheer force would force it to collapse. Her Zanpakuto is called Tiburon (Shark), which is a medium lengthed wide sword, with a hollow inside. She has used an ability similar to Getsuga Tenshou, called Projectile Azul. Her release command is “Attack” in which she transforms into a more shark-like version of her former self. Her mask is removed, revealing her whole face. She receives fin-like boots, and bone armor, in addition to a very large, shark-fin shaped sword. Her special abilities involve controlling the element of water, to the extent that she can even over-power some of Toushiro Hitsugaya’s ice techniques.

Barragan Luisenbarn

Barragan Luisenbarn is an Arrancar under the command of Sousuke Aizen. He is the Segunta (2nd) Espada in Aizen’s army, making him a very powerful combatant. The remains of his Hollow mask create a crown worn atop his head, which is befitting since his fraccion call him “majesty.”  Both Barragan’s Hollow hole and ranking tattoo are undiscovered as of yet.

Barragan has a stocky, sour appearance to his aged body. This corresponds to he grumpy and somewhat stubborn attitude. He sees himself as royalty, answering to nobody, not even higher ranked Espada, except for Aizen. Barragan’s aspect of death is aging, which matches his powers. In his normal form, Barragan has the ability to slow down anything close enough to him, giving him an obvious advantage in battle. Also, what ever he touches ages, ultimately crippling it. His Zanpakutou is Arrogante, which takes the form of a giant axe, is released by the command “rot”. After releasing his Zanpakutou, Barragan transforms into a monstrous looking Skeleton King. In this form, his powers are amplified. Even the ground beneath him ages off and deteriorates as he walks. One of his techniques called “death breath,” releases a cloud that ages and deteriorates anything it touches.
Barragan’s ressureccion:

Barragan has a rather large fraccion, consisting of six members: Choe Neng Poww, Charlotte Cuuhlhourne, Avirama Redder, Findor Carias, Ggio Vega,  and Nirgge Parduoc, all of whom were exceptionally powerful, but were ultimately defeated and killed by shinigami. They seemed to think of Barragan as some sort of a god, and referred to him as “his majesty.”

Nnoitra Jiruga

Zanpakutou: Santa Teresa (Praying Mantis)

Nnoitra is an arrancar and the 5th ranked Espada in Aizen’s army. The remains of his hollow mask are hidden under a patch over his lefy eye, where it surrounds his hollow hole as well. His ranking tattoo is located on his tongue, which he frequently flaunts.  He wears the traditional white garbs that accompany all the arrancar in Aizen’s army, and has a very tall, spoon like collar behind his head. He is tall, lanky, and his face has very sharp features, with long black hair.

Nnoitra is a very rude, violent, sexist arrancar, who only exists to become more powerful. He has no problem fighting already injured opponents, displaying a complete lack of moral code. In the past, Nnoitra held the rank of 8th espada, and used the help of Szayel to trick the 3rd ranked espada Neliel, and successfully break her mask. After Aizen improved his Espada through the use of the Hokyoku, Nnoitra was promoted to the 5th ranked espada.  The thing Nnoitra hates more than anything else is people feeling sorry for him.

Nnoitra is an exceptional combatant, having a reach advantage on most opponents, in combination with his massive weapon. Nnoitra’s zanpakuto, Santa Teresa, in its sealed state is a giant blade, shaped like two crescent moons back to back. When Nnoitra uses his released form, by the command “Pray,” he grows a crescent shaped set of horns, extra sets of arms, and up to 6 scythe-like blades. His overall appearance in this form is that of a praying mantis.

Nnoitra reaches his demise in his fight against Kenpachi Zaraki, a fighter very similar to himself.

Ururu Tsumugiya
Urahara’s Shop

Ururu is a small black-haired girl who is employed under Urahara at his shop. She is often seen together doing chores with Jinta, though she is by far the more diligent one. Ururu is quite capable of fighting hollows and even arrancars despite her meek appearance. Her main weapon is a shoulder cannon which can fire multiple shots simultaneously. She also possesses superhuman strength and her kicks are especially lethal. Whenever Ururu gets hurt, she seems to go into a trance state and begins to systematically eliminate those she perceives as enemies (ie. Those who hurt her). Kisuke Urahara has described her powers as that of an “anti-shinigami.”

Koganehiko and Shiroganehiko are twin muscular men who loyally obey Kukaku Shiba.  They act as guardsmen and servants at Kukaku’s house.

Grimmjaw Jeagerjaques

Zanpakutou: Pantera (Panther)

Grimmjow Jeagerjaques is an Arrancar under the command of Sosuke Aizen and is the sixth highest ranked Espada. The remains of his Hollow mask cover the jawbone on the right side of his face. His Hollow hole is located in his abdomen. Grimmjow has an overall rebellious look to him and is reflected in his personality. He is very rude when speaking to others and is not one to be counted on to always obey orders. He is not afraid of challenging Espada who are higher ranked than himself. For example, he attacked 4th ranked Espada Ulquiorra Schiffer because he believed they were equal in power.

Grimmjow has a love for challenging battles and hates to fight injured or weakened enemies. He has an aggressive attitude and a violent temper. Grimmjow is also highly prideful and will bear a strong grudge against those who have wronged him or beaten him in battle. Before becoming an Arrancar, Grimmjow was an adjuchas-class menos with the body of a panther. He met his future Fraccions, Edorad Leones, Yylfordt Granz, Shawlong Qufang, Nakim and D-Roy at the time. They were so impressed with his battle prowess that they nominated Grimmjow to be their “king.”

Despite his berserker-like demeanor during fights, Grimmjow is a skillful fighter and has a knack for discovering and exploiting weaknesses in his opponents. Like all Arrancar, Grimmjow has the ability to use Cero blasts and also higher level Espada-versions of the attack such as the Gran Rey Cero. Grimmjow’s Zanpakuto is named Pantera, a sword with an S-shaped guard. Its Resurreccion command is “grind” which upon its release transforms Grimmjow with more feline features including claws, sharp teeth and a tail which can be used a whip. His Hollow mask also turns into the shape of a crown on his head, reflecting his title as “king” amongst his Fraccions. In his transformed state, Grimmjow has augmented strength and speed along with several new attacks including the ability to create powerful energy claws from his fingertips called Desgarrion.
